Three weeks until they send in the Rosetta raiding parties again and leave us in tatters with a damn fine floggin' for our sins.

Are we going to let them walk over us? Are we? You, the residents of this mighty fine team, decide.

PS - I also have an announcement to make. Half a million cobbly-thingies. Watch yer back Biffa. :D

Be careful with 6.4.5. It has some odd bugs. In particular, it doesn't like CPU 'throttling' (using less than 100% of a CPU core). You'll get crashed units if you try it (as I found out).

If in doubt, go back to an older version.

Well I've been trying to find out as to why my RAC is so low on my AMD chips and I think I've almost cracked it so expect an extra 3-400 points from me :)
Cool. If the info is likely to be of use to anyone else then might be worth posting it. :)

Today I have done 3,645 so far and you have done 3,218... so neer!
Just keeping you on your toes, and don't think you're home and dry either. :p

Yup - what he said. It'll give your RAM a real workout, and the CPU won't be far behind. My laptop absolutely hates it - 99C

No specific projects. Add Rosetta. Go.

If you fiddle with resource share you might get SETI and Rosetta running together. Worth a try, for the cause. :)

Edit - just noticed - three quads? Oof. :(

Sabotage, anyone? :D

If you're running Vista, don't worry about it. Vista likes doing that and it isn't a big problem. However, you may want to change the amount of memory BOINC is allowed to use (the default 50% can be a little low on quad-core systems with only 2GB RAM), and/or instruct BOINC not to keep suspended tasks in memory.

Recruiting drive. [thread=17984870]Engage![/thread]

Fingers crossed and please help out if anyone has any questions. :)

Not quite good enough though. I think I scared a few people off with the wall of text. I've inserted a potted version at the top to help.

LOL! I'd say that was tempting, but I'd probably get a slap for my trouble. :D

As for running both Folding and Rosetta, a hit is inevitable as even though the Folding core does most of the work on the GPU, there's only so much a GPU can do and the CPU has to help out. Not sure why even stealing one CPU core has such an effect though!

Code:
      8AM GMT 11PM GMT Difference
OcUK 10,189,833 10,219,664 29,831
TPF 10,014,067 10,045,095 31,028

Keep 'em coming guys (and gals). We'll show them what for yet. :D
