Well, I thought I'd start this thread so that people could discuss it more thoroughly than the no spoilers thread.

I really enjoyed this movie, and the part were the forest-people-types were chasing him was classic. Especially the bamboo scene with all the fruit.

Johnny Depp plays his character so well in this film and the previous one. Quality acting once again by that sexy looking... erm, by Johnny Depp. :o :p

I saw it last night, and absolutly laughed my ass off at the kebab style bit :D
Some great comedy in there aswell, Davie Jones and his crew however, were creepy :(

I think that may have been the idea :p

Saw this last night. Orlando Bloom and Keira "I'm a small boy" Knightley can't act to save their lives, but Johnny Depp was excellent as he was in the first one. Shame that just as with many middle editions of trilogies that there was no real coda.

i got a bit lost at times thinking, wtf.

I still rekon he shoulda just stabbed the heart and got it over with.

and where the hell did barbosa come from

ohh i saw it last night and loved it. There was a lot more obvious humor than the last one !

The ending cliff hanger was annoying, and i wonder what happens to jonny depp

8.5/10

Really didn't like it.. very little of the Jack Sparrow dialogue remained from the first one and that's what I thought made the first movie. Far too much boring action and not enough plot.

Also, seemed far too long, I found myself checking my watch time and again wishing for the end, and when it finally came I let out a big sigh..

5/10

it was not bad film actually, better than what i thought. i thought johnny depp was way too camp which annoys me but makes me laugh at the same time.
i didnt find the blatant humour funny tho(like the kebab type thing) to0 blatant humour for me.

good film tho i would give it a 7.

p.s was annoyed with the ending. feel ripped off now cos im basically being forced to see the third one :p

You didn't twig that when the monkey was hanging around some strange boots on their first visit? ;)

Reasonably satisfied with the film, reserving proper judgment until I see the second half. The start was awful, it was very knee jerk in setting the premise, and getting Jack and Will together. "Ok, we know what we want to do story wise, now we just need to find a way to get our male leads together...erm.....huh.....uh...... Lets almost make a montage of unflowing events, no real dialog or action, until we eventually reach a point where we can start the film. Hurrah!". Jack Sparrow wasn't really used as he should have been, though that could all be saved for the finale next year.

A lot of predictability, but then you almost expect that from a film like this - pure entertainment, you dont want to think about it too much. I liked the villains, I liked the plot, I liked the action sequences.

Cant hold a candle to the first, but then, were we really expecting it to?

Roll on 2007.

I can't wait till the next one!

Jonny Depp makes that film, but there wasn't enough of the funny dialogue and scenes that you get with Jack Sparrow like in the first one. That was the only disappointment for me.

Thought it was a great film, very entertaining if a little thin on plot. The original was better, as expected. My only worry is that Captain Jack will be absent for a lot of the next film?

I did... and thought "Hmmm Who's Boots are those?" I didn't twig till I saw the same Boots coming down the stairs... and it was "Oooo I just remembered Jeffry Rush was in the credits and I've not seen Barbosa yet!?!" ..

Roll on Next May Is all I can say!...

Saw it yesterday and it's pretty much what i expected it to be, pure action and fun all the way!

I agree that the film seemed to get a bit lost at times, for instance when Will was searching for Jack, it all seemed a bit disconnected. But it was great fun once it got going with some really immature humour in which pleased me.

Imho... 7/10

:)

I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.

Am i the only one that stayed for the hidden scene after the credits?

I got sucked into that to - now that was a waste of time!! 8mins or so jeez lol

Thought the film rocked !! Cant wait for the 3rd

Glad it smashed all box office opening records in the states - w00t! :p

Saw this tonight, perfectly watchable and didn't seem to drag like some films of this length. Certainly a lot better than King Kong.

That said, I was slightly amused at a plot which features Kiera Knightley searching for a chest. She's been doing that since puberty :)
