Pistol Whip

Fun challenge this week. Dual 6 shooters but unlimited ammo.

Also managed to complete the last level of the original campaign on hard. Now just need to do it on the second campaign.

nice going

if it hasn't changed, i did one a couple of days ago with dual pistols, jeez thats hard !
i didn't think i saw any scores on the board at all (in the world)

Amazing. As you say, makes it look so simple. I wonder is She using Aim assist? Not that it matters too much, impressive either way.

It's also the way you are supposed to play the game, don't stop moving!!

Looks like the campaign, so it'll have aim assist on default. Think they have more horizontal room than me, I'm generally planted in one place and relying on squats to dodge :D. Wish I'd seen the score, think it was on hard mode though.

I too am a squat dodger!! :p I have the space to move side to side, but, nope, I squat to dodge.

When that girl plays Pistol Whip, she looks like she is dancing. When I play pistol whip, I look like I am doing some weird exercise program.

I try and keep moving to the beat, and I suspect if I was modelled onto an anime girl, it wouldn't look quite so ridiculous!

i tried aim assist off last night

aim score went down by half !

i suppose if i get good without aim assist i should be able to use a real gun lol

Been working at the challenge again (I enjoy the smoke and thunder soundtracks a lot, so that helps). Got into the top 50, really pleased with that.

I played this for the first time today, having got it from the humble bundle.

Until I read this thread, I had no idea there was even an expectation to shoot to the beat! I didn't notice any kind of indicator of when you should be shooting. Will have to look more carefully next time!

There's obviously the beat of the song. Then there's also a vibration in the controller that you can adjust, and finally the figures go fuzzy on the beat I believe.

Accuracy is half the score, beat the other half.

yeah it is sad clearly a talented bunch. This is the problem when you have a vendor trying to create a monopoly, pushes their vision into the market, it doesn't go as planned and they pivot.... you decimate the industry reliant on said product. All this has happened before and will happen again....

Or maybe it's more to do with general downturn in the gaming industry since the end of Covid. Where in the last 3 years, thousands of people have been let go and multiple gaming studios have been closed down. Like in the last year alone 9000 people were let go and 25 gaming studios closed down, while others restructured or merged with other studios.

Cloudhead Games aren't closing and Pistol Whip must have done, and be doing, pretty well to keep 50+ people employed for nearly 6 years and to keep the remaining employees in a job. And that will be mostly down to the standalone market.

They said they would give further updates, so will see what they say. But, I would be willing to bet all my money, that the reasons they reduced their workforce is the same reason that most of the other layoffs and closures happened, because they were unable to secure funding for the projects they were working on.
