Pizzas -worst value fast food?

I'm a big fan of good Kebab shop Pizza's. Freshly made, watch it being prepared, and reasonably priced.

And ofcourse they taste great. Damn, I fancy one now, I think they're open till 3am tonight...hmmm. :D

All the takeaway pizzas my housemates have got from my local kebab places taste really salty, and the chain stores are really expencive.

Can't beat a morrisons deep pan meat feast or spicy chicken , £3.20 for a kilo of pizza, usually add some more pepperoni, encona chilli sauce and and a sliced ball of mozarella, feeds me for two days, good when i'm feeling lazy:cool:

make your own pizza. it's really not that hard.
however, if you like greasy takeaway pizzas, don't order form pizza hut or dominos as they're ****.

find a good local italian with a wood-fired oven.

The meal deal from pizza hut isnt bad value, Got a medium thin crust with double pepperoni, double spicy sausage and double spicy beef, a garlic bread and a 2litre pepsi for 12.50 last night.

pizza was hot and full of toppings. Garlic bread was slightly colder but crunchy how i like it. better value than dominos.

Why on earth anyone goes to the large chain pizza shops is beyond me.

Overpriced rubbish is all they serve up.

Just use a traditional pizza shop and you will be fine, or buy them in the supermarkets and make them better by adding your own toppings.

either buy from a local place, we have quite a few good ones around here and they all taste very good in there own way. Looking around £5-£5.50 for a 11" meat feast.

Or what I tend to do is get a pizza in from Asda, they are amazingly good, and cost either £2.30 for a 9" or £3.20 for an 11". The steak and cheese and american hot are great!

but 12.50 for a pizza and garlic bread? I would rather go out to a restaurant and have sirloin steak and it wouldn't cost anymore.

My local take away would do me an 11" meat feast, garlic bread and bottle of coke for £8 with delivery!

im sorry i must say something...

1) who said pizza express sit in meal is cheaper than a pizza hut delivery... wtf?

2) boyrob, where the hell do you go to get a nice steak meal for 12.50 or ?

every time i go to a resturant its at least £50 per head.

Don't forget I am a northerner and things are pretty cheap around here!

I can think of at least 5/6 nice pub/restaurants within 10 miles where I could get a good quality steak for under £12.50.

Hell I even went out for a meal on new years and had pan fried venison for £12!

those prices aren't that far off, although the place were i had the venison had bottles of house red/white/rosey for only £6 a bottle!

have to agree , Pizza is bland, boring

you've obviously just never eaten a really decent pizza then. Used to go to an proper italian restaurant (replete with the owner/head chef and wife having huge bust-ups in italian most nights) back home that did the best wood fired pizza - the mixture of cheeses, toppings and an amazing passata was truly magnificent.

He ended up divorcing the wife and opening a new restaurant (she got the old one in the settlement) but unfortunately had to use a gas fire, they were never quite the same after that :(

i agree pizza's, although from the outside appear very basic, can be superb when done right. We go to a place when on holiday, in France strangely, that do amazing fresh pizzas. They make the dough and cook right in front of you and they are unbelievably good, especially the one they do with an egg in the centre. Never seen a busier place.

Why are you quoting a night out? Your main cost you £15-£20, the rest is irrelevant.

One night i had a jacket potato (at home) which must cost all of 50p including butter, but the £60 i spent on booze etc the rest of the night made that the most expensive potato ever by your logic.
