A plane has crashed and broken in two on landing at Guyana's main airport in the capital, Georgetown, causing injuries but no deaths.

Ms Ramsingh said a taxi driver reached the crash site before rescuers and asked for $20 to drive her back to the terminal.

"I had to pay, but in times of emergencies, you don't charge people for a ride," she said.

Caribbean Airlines, which is majority-owned by Trinidad and Tobago with Jamaica holding a minority stake, does not have a history of serious safety problems.

Let's hear some opinions on who's to blame for this before we get the facts :)

Before we get all the facts, my opinion s that it is pilot error (presuming everything was functioning correctly) as it isn't too different to THIS crash, at least not fundamentally. Both wet and dark.

<3 these style threads :D

I wonder if a mod could set something up where we could make pools for betting post counts

maybe as software would be too much hassle some people just arrange the pools in threads then passes the list of who wont to the dons at the end of the week :p

Glad everyone is OK, could have been pretty bad.

and wtf with the taxi driver...

So who votes we have a competition where we all guess who's fault it was and whoever's right gets a free pint curtsey of Cleeecooo? ;)
