Planet Earth II

Incredible.
One slightly morbid question I find myself asking is "Who will replace David Attenborough?".

One can only hope that he has done such a marvellous job of inspiring others over many, many years, that there is someone out there with the same love and enthusiasm for the natural world, capable of taking over the mantle.

That's worth my entire years tv licence fee right there!

Might even be worth the jump to 4k if they transmit in UHD

It is being filmed in 4K so maybe have to wait for later netflix 4k re-transmission (but would be a coup for sky) ....

Pictures will be gorgeous (beyond higher frame rates what are latest camera innovations?)
but I guess I am alone in considering Mr Attenboroughs voice now a bit laconic/blasé ?
(planet earth, life on earth, frozen planet etc etc have taker their toll)
I would have thought Morgan Freeman would be better (for US market too) or could we have C. Zeta Jones or Liz Hurley ?

Yep sir Attenboroughs voice is iconic and animal based documentaries aren't the same without him.
where freeman has conquered the spacey/science documentaries.

I wouldn't go that far, its worth about 2 months, aka what the blu ray will cost.

I'd be interested in the Freeman space docs. Can you name any for us to watch please?

@Glaucus : laconic != iconic ? (sorry to disrespect your idol)

Freemans Through the wormhole does not seem to be free viewing from the UK, moon machines series which is on utube is good though (if you are into engineering)
Unfortunately also have to pay for Carl Sagans Cosmos series too - his voice has to be one of the most charismatic ? and he found a more renumerative career than Freeman.
