Planetside finally gets a server merge!

tbh I've been in 3 now and they are damn effective if the pilots good.
swoop and burn all the way. but you need to be able to get out fast! they are not paper thin but can be owned by 2-3 AA MAX if you panic.

got invited to ISK today :D
 
Would be great for the pop to go back up to near early levels.

If a lot of people come back when they merge i can see there being 2poplocks. There was one on gemini at 9pm our time, so not even prime time.

If the pop does return and my outfit becomes active again I can see my social life slowly ebbing away.
 
iamgud here, think I was like the 5th or so CR5 on Werner back in the day, I would love to play but don't feel it is worth £10 a month. Considering the devs do nothing.

I sort of see your point and do agree but I have also found that there is nothing else out there to quite match it in terms of its style. Because there is no crafting, resource gathering, etc; everyone is there for a fight or to do the support side of that fight. The concept is awesome and with the packetloss gone (was the original reason I stopped playing and hopefully a move to Gemini won't see it return) it really does have potential with the increase in population that the merge will see.

I am going to give it a month of sub to see how things pan out on Gemini.....VeNT are you active in ISK at the moment?

the most annoying thing is though that the community was crying out for stuff like the new CE for engies, the phantasm (how long was that a concept), stuff that would keep people playing, and they did introduce it eventually but it was after everyone had left! the move to biffers first was a bit of a mistake, all the people who wanted new stuff didn't want them and saw it as a reason to quit. it represents one of the biggest missed opportunities ever i reckon.

i agree though, there is nothing like it in terms of what it does and it still produces some of the best moments in gaming for me. it still however has interlink farms, bridge fights that go on for days, 3-ways that serve to get in the way of a good fight and biffers.

i'm not sure whether i'll resub, i've a few other mmos to try first, but i have enjoyed the trip down memory lane in these last free weeks.

I agree, it is a great game and nothing else comes close in terms of gameplay. Getting a platoon together and capturing a base or holding a generator and causing havok with a small force to eventually see the zerg arrive and see ho long you can hold it off or hot dropping a tower that has had a battle going on for hours to end it with 20 men.

I love MMOs but they are sometimes too much about numbers or level, in this tactics and skill come more into play being an FPS.

But they just don't develop, there are server costs but the expansion wasn't amazing and develpmont has pretty much stopped.


I can't play during the free period as I am using 3G at the moment, Probably not going to play again unless I get really bored or rich. currently paying for 2x Eve subscriptions and Aion starting next month.

Huxley was loking good, I might play that, other than that it seems FPS games will get more MMOish rather than MMORPGS becoming more FPS based.
maybe Battlefield 4 or something. :)
 
Isn't EVE free cos you pay with ISK? :P Should be able to trade in the excess of CEP I'm getting for free playtime. :(
 
Sadly I have let my EvE subs tail off. I can't devote the time to it anymore in the same way as other MMOs where I can just stand up and walk away when I need to. EvE is way too much commitment :(

Have toyed with the idea of selling my accounts as I really don't know when I am likely to have the time again to devote to it.

2 characters are 60mil+ and 1 is somewhere close to 75mil. Got 2 around 30-35mil too. Shame really............
