Play an old game at the engine of it's sequel

Hi there!
I was wondering if you know any games in which you can play the first/outdated (graphic-wise)one in the engine of the second (usually as a mod)

Personally, i can think of two:
Classic Doom, with the engine of Doom 3
Starcraft 1, with the engine of the second one

Anyone else can enlighten us and add to the list?

Red Alert 2 with the most recent C&C engines,
D2 with D3 engine (but same gritty, dark feel of D2 ofc)

I think Chronicles of Riddick did this as well with the original being ported to the same engine as Dark Athena.

Not quite the same thing, but theirs been some remakes of old games in new engines - for instance the Monkey Island games.

Got a lot of love for both the original and Anniversary but the original is better overall imo, notwithstanding graphics, rubbish controls, camera issues, insta death frustration and triangular boobs

Command and conquer renegade x. Its command and conquer renegade but in UT3 mod. I think its dead tbh, the mods took way too long developing it and everyone just left.
