PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Are you using a mechanical keyboard or a super sensitive mic? They key pressing was insanely loud in that vid. Nice win though!

Some guy with a name like 1837567187485 tried the old hide in a bush beside a buggy trick on me yesterday. Must have forgot it was 3rd person because I could see him jump on the back lol. Jumped back out and auto shotty to the sorted out his cheekiness.

Yeah sorry it's a mechanical keyboard, unfortunately so far Shadowplay only lets you record your microphone on/off without any sort of volume detection levels - so it's constantly on and very sensitive.
In discord it's not a problem, it's set so that it only picks up my voice.

Hopefully Nvidia can add it as an option soon.

iirc you can, or at least used to be able, set Shadowplay to record mic on push-to-talk.

every mechanical keyboard should come with quiet keys as standard IMO and if someone wants clicky ones then order them separately. both of mine are quite loud but i just bought them online on a whim. would have been better if i could have tested them locally before hand.

tbh i don't see mechanical keyboards actually being any better than a £5 keyboard. in terms of functionality i don't think they do anything any better. i've never had issues with any of my older non mechanical keyboards in the past. never had issues on any laptops or work keyboards either. i do think they are a bit of a gimmick tbh. glad both of mine were less than £40 each.

Not played solo in ages won first game of the new season. Time to quit 100% win ratio. Back to trolling in squads getting bored of the map now tho but buzzing for the new one and also seems to have map exclusive weapons aswell.

What is this crap? Do you have some sort of vendetta against mechanical keyboards?

Yeah forget everyone arguing about PUBG, this is the real travesty in this thread! Obviously mechanical boards don't offer any enhanced "functionality" - they translate keypresses into signals just like a non-mechanical board does, the difference is how much more responsive and quality feeling the keys are (plus they last longer etc)... You must appreciate that anyway as you are yourself a mechanical keyboard user - would you go back to a membrane/rubber dome board?

err all i said was that they should come with quiet keys as standard. maybe you should learn to read. i have no vendetta against them. i also don't think they are worth £150, etc that some people pay for them having owned and using 2 of them. in fact i'm typing on one just now and it's stupidly loud

RGB strafe silent mx best mechanical keyboard there is..

EOD.

https://www.massdrop.com/r/6HW75F

can you recommend any from here? it's a discount website and i have a $125 voucher to use so it's going to cost me nothing. preferable something around $150 to make full use of the voucher. it's where i bought my roccat mouse, antlion modmic and akg q701's from.

there stock changes week to week. so next week they will have a completely different set of stuff to sell

Apologies if this subject has already been discussed, but are cheaters getting worse in this game? More recently, I'm often getting insta-headshotted by people who seems to instinctively know what building I'm hiding in. It's rather uncanny.

I'm not discounting that I'm a bit rubbish too.

Snap - got the same board about a year ago :) I do like it and I feel that the silent switches are the best for use at home, when gaming... I don't personally find them best switches for typing on though, comparing them to my board at work (which has MX blues - they're noisy but it's an open office with nothing but the loud clacking of everyone's keys all around anyway)...

And as for keeping on topic - cheaters... I've definitely been noticing more; it's rare that I call out something as cheating when it might have just been a very good player but there have been some instances that were beyond obvious lately (e.g. our whole squad being insta head-shot within the same few milliseconds whilst fairly spread out over an area)

go look on youtube cheating is rife. there are forums openly giving them away and discussing them too from one video that popped up in my feed.

you will get cheats in every PC game tbh. they need to get prime matchmaking like CS:GO

dont you have to pay import tax from massdrop?

yeah but if i'm getting £100 off the keyboard then £20 in import tax isn't going to kill me. plus everything is usually half the price to begin with in america and this is further discount on top of that. i got a pair of timbies off massdrop for £80 the same ones are £180 in the UK for example so even with import tax i'm still saving a lot.
