PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Just to echo what Merlin says, that Discord has been huge in keeping me interested in gaming.

I won’t name names for fear of missing people out, but there are plenty of people I actively look out for because I know I’ll have an enjoyable game or few no matter how well or badly we do.

Then there are those times when it all comes together like last night, a good group, nobody taking things too seriously, good banter, by the end I think everyone had three or four kills each, and all alive in the final circle. Full squad vs full squad.

Ended up 1 vs 1, stalemate, each hiding, by now our star player is up to 7 kills and we’re all nervously waiting for the circle to disappear and all guvingbour own thoughts on exactly when to med to survive longer than the opposition.
Circle disappears, med kit is used and as it is ‘Winner Winner.....’.

Not a special moment in the grand scheme of PUBG, but a really good fun way to spend half an hour with like minded geeks who have nothing better to do.

Without the Discord, I would have most likely played a solo, and even if I’d managed s rare win it would have been fun but ultimately a forgettable experience.

I should check out discord too but dont have a headset with a mic (just using sennheiser hifi headphones). What headset would you guys recommend for PUBG?

I've just shot a guy square in the face from almost point blank range with the S686 and he didn't take any damage . He can't have been cheating as I watched the death cam and he had less than 30% health before I even shot him. My shot registered on my screen and on his. He then killed me with the Mini.

Must have been de-sync or something. I actually have the game clip recorded but can't really post it, due to many expletives being muttered*. :p

*shouted

I think de-sync problems are back. I shot a dude with an entire magazine with a SCAR with a red dot at about 30 meters and every single round went through him. Shots that I would normally get a kill with in my sleep.

Cheap and cheerful if you just want to get online. More if you can afford it and/or want to get more out of it.

I’ve got a Corsair Void Pro. I ‘think’ it was around the £100 mark, is wireless, good battery, and sounds good. Certainly got my money’s worth.
You can get analogue headsets much cheaper that are just as good.

Agreed. You don't even have to win, just have a good time. Doing better helps of course. We've had a tough evening tonight and I think we were all about ready to throw the towel in, then I think we all decided to just try harder to work together. Land together, supporting the guy taking shots, calling things out, moving as a team. The last two games I think we got into the last 10 both times before being circle shafted. Very enjoyable.

I do not think they ever went away...

So came up against some EU streamer with a silly name: F1rstLady33. Compared his stream, to what I saw in my game, to the replay. Crazy difference between all three.

On his screen he sprayed 12 rounds at me without jumping, on my screen it showed a glitch type jump and almost insta 2 round death. I wonder if playing with a high ping versus a low ping (Ie: EU playing on NA) actually gives them an advantage. It's like my client was sent a "burst" of what he was doing any not a continuous smooth flow of data.

OcUK discord has been a life line for my enjoyability in gaming - met many excellent like minded people there.

I don’t get a lot of time to play, but having people like v1nch3nzo, Chris BEANS, Rexeh and Kwango to play with have help me keep my interest in PC gaming - it would’ve dwindled by now without it.

Cheers mate.

I'm the same, haven't really played pubg that much but the discord has gotten me addicted.

Even if that means being bullied for dropping gear in awkward positions

I am around the same buddy, but my presence is generally tolerated, so wouldn't worry too much :D

Haha that's good to know. I usually play with a few mates if they are on, one of them is a pro gamer which helps, as he basically carries me the entire session getting over 20 kills regularly to my single digit efforts (at best!). Be good to have other people to play with though, as he tends to stream a lot on twitch and plays a lot of solo for ranking.

Only played a couple of rounds last night with a few from Discord but one of my most enjoyable ones too.

Had a duo with Mister-Flibbles and we got 6 kills each and finished third in a really exciting game from start to finish. One to remember.

Yep discord has definitely increased the games longevity for me. Having decent people in squads is so much more enjoyable. I've never once been moaned at for being pants either which is my usual standard.

Where have you been man? This has been well known and one of the main reasons why folk have played on regions not thier own. It has compounded and made the asian cheating stuff look even worse than it has been. I can't belive it has only just dawned on you... xD did you not notice this stuff before (being shot through cover etc, because on their screen you are not yet in cover etc....)

FWIW since the ping grouping changes this has been soooo muuuuch betttterrr, I've not noticed it once since those changes.

I can think of how a person could start the game and then artificially increase their ping when they have aready been allocated into a similar 'ping group' game though... I just hope such stuff stays relatively rare or they start combating that when it starts to rise in numbers.

It's a legal requirement in some countries, they aren't allowed to show realistic blood. It's being blown way out of proportion, as per the majority of things regarding this game.
