Playing chicken with cars: ******* idiots

Lol funny thread, never had anyone walk out on me yet on purpose, though funnily enough had to slam on this morning as some old bat walked straight out on the little Ka this morning poor girl had to slam on and stopped within inches of her, then the silly old bat had the cheek to carry on across the road then give the driver two fingers lol cudnt believe it.

LOL

She was on her way to work about 6am and so it was dark.. didn't see him until the last second which is why she ended up on the otherside of the embankment.

She called my mobile about 6:20am and I rushed to the scene behind a fire engine.. it was like some crappy movie, only scary.

Worse still the cyclist lives on her estate and he was heard talking about it on the bus.. he didn't even stop to check if she was alright, which is what annoyed me.

Thankfully a passing paramedic stopped and pulled her out of the car.

Bleh, cyclists really annoy me when they're like that. "I have a right to cycle on this road! You must avoid me, or it's your fault if I get hurt or worse!"

No, everyone is responsible for their own safety, after everything else is considered, at work etc, yes, they try to make it as safe as possible for you, but it's still down to the individual to look after themselves. Same goes for cycling, I wouldn't dream of cycling on my nearest dual carriageway, the A14, since it's a link between felixestowe and birmingham there's a ridiculous number of lorries on it, and as for cars, if you're following a car in the inside lane, you can't see a cyclist for toffee even in there's 1 car infront of you, purely because you're on the right side of your car, and the cyclist is on the left side of the car infront.

Bleh, ban cyclists from dual-carriageways, they cause cars to swerve into the other lane without checking their mirrors (because they simply don't have time), or slamming on the anchors, or a combo of both.

Which brings me onto old people... :D

They're just oblivious and always in the right, countless times I've been overtaking one, then he decides to pull out, without indicating, and without checking his mirrors or knowing I'm there and not caring because "I must overtake this lorry now" :p

/rant off....I judge my driving on the basis that, if everyone drove like me, what would it be like? Everyone would get to work at 120mph for starters :D

I'm surprised no one has suggested that the OP report this to the police. The chavs are bound to make a habit of this, and chances are they'd do it in the same spot. I'm not saying the police will necessarily do anything, but in the event that some poor soul does hit one of them and risks getting into trouble for it, maybe the fact that you reported them playing chicken before, would help that person get out of trouble.

hmm need to brush up on highway code

Not really, I try to avoid the roads like the plague and would never dream of going onto a dual carriageway, wouldn't really love a car to hit me at 70mph... :D Guess I should have changed it to Mountain biking or "arsing aroundon BMX".

There are times when it's not as easy to overtake a cyclist as you'd think, then it's a miserable slow down to about 10mph. (Safe)

It never crossed my mind to be honest, thinking that they'd never catch the guy, but you do have a point.

Anyway perhaps if I hadn't had the stopping distance to avoid him and killed the guy, the law may let me off but I think I'd be a bit shocked about it for just about forever and I probably wouldn't forgive myself.
