Playing PC games via a 4k tv?

Thanks, may just accept defeat and run older games at 4k and newer ones at 1080!

Nvidia control panel doesnt seem to save any settings regarding my tv! Colour is set to limited under the resolution area so i set it to full but seems to change back each time!

** found a setting on tv to enable UHD colour through hdmi and now its taking 1440p just fine! Looks good from where im sat but will nip back to 1080 and see if its better or worse

UHD is a good point. If i enable it then my sound cuts out. Visually it is great but it may be a limitation of my hdmi cable or AV receiver.

What does it do? Its on atm and it does look better at 1440p than 1080, must be down to individual tvs or something

Sounds seems normal for now, just straight hdmi to the pc albeit 6m long but seems ok atm!

Do wish my pc had the grunt for full 4k at 60fps but this seems spot on at the mo

My 4K TV was a budget screen (still a good picture though) so doesn't support 1440p. I run at 1080p mostly but 4K where I can and it is brilliant. Even with a 970 I find I can run close to max without AA on GTA V and MGS V and keep around the 40+ FPS range.

Thats cool mate, 970 such a good card! Yea im happy to sacrifce frames for 4k; 40frames atleast is spot on imo especially for action games and rpgs that i use a controller for. Trying to force my way through tomb raider, struggling to hild my interest at the mo but its a stunning game visually

Yeh pretty solid card, waiting to upgrade to a 1080 on the 2nd hand market one day.
Tomb Raider is one that I just couldn't run at 4K, frame drop wasnimmense. Found it better to run it at 1080p absolutely maxed.

To be fair now ive sorted 1440p out i will stick with that for newer games so i can max settings and frames

Saying that forza 3 demo runs anazingly at 4k, very well optimized i guess!
