PlayStation 4 Pro in-bound

They aren't competing against anyone.

This is aimed at the gaming enthusiast (PC gamer) who wants the bleeding edge tech. This is how Sony sees the way into their wallets with those amazing looking PS4 exclusive games.

Then there's the UHD stuff appealing to the 4K TV crowd, will be similar to the stealth invasion of the PS3 into the living room.

All of the leaked info seems to have come from one source and as usual all the big names have jumped on it to get attention. I will remain open minded until anything official is released.

Having had my PS4 since launch an upgraded more powerful model would be nice but i don't really think it is needed yet and the money would be better spent on new AAA games and decent sequals of current games.

I'm more than happy with the graphical performance of PS4 but it needs more killer games rather than half the library made up of "Re-Mastered" games from the last few generations.

It's from papers sent out by Sony......

I cannot see them releasing it at the same time as PSVR because that has the potential to burn A LOT of people, I mean at the moment Joe Public thinks PSVR will work and perform just swimmingly on their vanilla PS4, it launches and then BOOM Sony say, oh wait hang on to get the most (perfomance/graphics wise) of that new PSVR headset you just spent £350 on you should really get PS4Neo at £xxx as it will give a better experience.

For me I cannot see the general public being cool with this. But what do I know, I'll probably be proved wrong in the long run and it will outsell the PS4.

£155 trade in and £131.80 cash according to the app.

CEX are offering £164 trade in so if you have those stores near you and they are close to each other you can get them to match.

They've not talked about it but it would be a huge missed opportunity if it wasn't able to do this.

Stuff like going from a fixed 900p output to 1080p, or fixed 30 fps to 60 fps, would definitely require a patch though.

There has been talk of it and the leaked stuff said the below:

Games that launch after October have to have a NEO mode and games before this are down to devs to release patches.

57 hours to go. I'm way overhyped - I can't help but think I'm going to be disappointed. I'm probably expecting too much from the Neo. I hope it's not just going to be identical-looking games running at 4K.

It's not. I think people are going to be very disappointed with what they announce (unless they have changed it massively to coming next year {which I highly doubt[because people will be even more disappointed with that]}in response to MS with Scorpio).

Of course I could be wrong and it will indeed be an amazing thing, but I just don't see it, because they want this and the PS4 to co-exist, so they can't blow the PS4 out the water otherwise that's not going to happen.

It will certainly be an interesting reveal and the messaging has to be 100& on point and clear. The last tthing they want is the Xbox One reveal level of confusion afterwards and having to spend days actually answering questions of ifs and buts to press.

I imagine they are in a bit of a quandary as to what to actually do with the extra power at the moment.

I also fear people expecting 1080p 60FPS in games like BF1/a retro patch to GTA V will be disappointed, there will be massive backlash of "that's it" I think towards this.

I would not expect a huge launch of old game patches at all, that is just going to lead to disappointment, maybe some games like Bloodborne/Driveclub (I find this very doubtful)/UC4 etc may have improvement patches, but I don't see it reaching those performance levels, at least not consistently (which IMHO it should to be a worthy upgrade).
