It'll be the problem that all the Vita screens have - the cheap manufacturing of the OLED displays result in "blotches" that are only really visible on a black screen. Nothing you can do about it.

Jesus you are annoying.

All OLED displays slight lighting variations when you are in a pitch black room looking at a pitch black screen. The reason this is the case is because OLED, unlike other crap displays can display near absolute black so any tiny variation of that my be slightly noticable in the above scenario. 99.999999999% of the time that will not be the case, its not a problem.

Typical iTard, pretending he's got something, to try to increase his argument that his iCrap is better.

While I agree that if he doesn't like the Vita, he should stop moaning about it and do something more productive with his time, you are hardly any better using terms like 'iTard' and 'iCrap'.

I know, but I find in the pub it really winds them up. (My mates all run iPhones etc.)

I actually think some of Apples stuff is half reasonable. Their gear is always underpowered and well over priced, by hey its Apple, they've always been the same. Their gear is certainly not the second coming of christ some of their more rabid fans will have you believe.

Rayman I have for the 360, Stardust for the PS3 and Ive never liked Motorstorm games haha. Anyone know ifr Unit 13 wil actually be any good? Are there any reviews out yet for it?

Stardust on the Vita is a lrger game than on the PS3. If you enjoyed the PS3 version then the Vita version is a lock.

But am I not right to moan - it is a problem with all of them. If you think yours doesn't have the blotching issue then you likely just haven't noticed it yet. Samsung's own phones don't have the issue, so it can only be attributed to a cheaper manufacturing process to fulfill Sony's requirements or a problem related to bonding the panel to the plastic front.

It does happen on Samsung phones actually. Some people have it some don't.
Almost beat Uncharted on hard. It's taking me a while has I'm trying to find everything. At least then on crushing I can focus on getting through the level only. I wonder if you unlock cool stuff like on the PS3 Uncharted games like infinite bullets and so on.

I am also trying to find everything on my Hard playthrough. I think I'm at chapter 11 and have 22 of the jade stones. Probably not all of them but at least the game tells you how much there is left to find in each chapter.

Hey folks. In Heathrow Terminal 1, Wipeout for £29, is that the cheapest going around ?

That's not bad at the moment. Its £28 at Asda and £30 at play, everyone else is above £30.

On a different note, it seems that a full discharge had no effect on my Vita screen having the first column of pixels on the far left being stuck on white and they are still there. The email came through this morning about the replacement so hopefully I'll get a tracking number today for it. Annoying but at least Amazon have been very good.

Is it worth me exchanging it for another one?

If you are talking about the screen blotches then I would say if you see them while gaming at all then yes. If you only see them while it's pitch black and in a dark room when it's loading a level then it's up to you.

It's an issue with OLED displays that some get it and some don't. Despite what some would like you to believe it's nothing to do with it being because it's in the Vita, Samsungs other OLED screens have the same issue apparently on the same scale.

If you only see it in the latter circumstance there is no guarantee that any replacement will be any different.

Yeah just been reading about it and its a problem with the OLED, only see it when a black image appears !

While I agreed with you a few pages back with what you said about the slight colour change, saying that all the Vitas have a blotching issue is plain wrong. As I said before, I've seen two machines now in a dark room with a black screen showing. While it wasn't perfectly black, it was much better than an LCD, but the display was uniform and there wasn't a blotch in sight.

Maybe it does effect a percentage of screens and if that's the case, and it is Sony cost cutting, then it sucks. But I'm guessing I've not seen the only two screens in existence where it doesn't happen, so saying it's all of them is way off the mark.

Samsung make the screens, not Sony....

Do you moan about iPhones crap black levels?

Or this?

I think we should keep the discussion about the Vita and not about Apple products now guys.

Back on to topic, as anybody heard anything about Bioshock on the Vita?, (kinda wondering which game it'll be or if it'll be a new game)

Also played Uncharted demo last night, great looking game, however my right hand seemed to cramp up really bad, yet I played other games for a few hours straight without problems, however it was only when I got to use the sniper rifle, before that I was fine

Only when its dark.

Flight ?

Ahh got your and Cavallino confused. Doh.

"We're still sort of in the paper design stage," Irrational Games head and co-founder Ken Levine told me this weekend. Sitting in a nondescript conference room four floors above Manhattan's Union Square, sipping on his second Diet Coke, Levine was referring to the new BioShock game coming to PlayStation Vita, which he announced himself on Sony's E3 press conference stage earlier this year.

Despite the naming convention, BioShock on Vita isn't planned as a portable version of the upcoming game, Infinite, or the former two games set in the underwater city of Rapture -- at least, not right now. "That's not the current goal for what we're doing," Levine explained. While he admitted that "things can change," he added, "I think for us, the idea we have is a really good expression on a platform like that [Vita]. It's a different goal. And it has to sort of have its own voice in the franchise. If it just feels like a quieter voice in the franchise, I don't think that works. For us."

Which isn't to say he derides other developers for taking the pared-down port approach. "I think there's room for every kind of game and every kind of approach. But just for what we do. That's not to say I won't play a lot of those games. I'd love to have that kind of game on a handheld." It simply means the development of the BioShock Vita game isn't taking that route. "I'd rather do something that's an experiment and that's a little different. And is unique for the franchise," he teased.

On a different note, my first article on nearvita.com is live. All about using your brower while your game is running.

Make me feel loved chaps.
