Im still confused about this factory reset thing... what does that entail?

Can I, this is another assumption, have my 4GB card just for MLB The Show and as such when I want to play it, put that in the PS Vita and the console loads up a US account, MLB The Show and bosh... then have a 32GB card which has my UK account and UK downloads on?

Or does the memory card not store specific PSN information? I assuming thats too easy a workaround? As basically if that did work, id get the 4GB running as a US one... get MLB the Show... then once the 32GB arrives, put that in, sign in as my UK one and re-download Motorstorm, but I assume I lose all my saves from Rayman

Part of me thinks just order the Cart, but if this download works ill be saving £10 I reckon.

The factory reset is an option in the settings. It makes the Vita forget all about you, but not about your saves and stuff since they are on the memory card. When it reboots it will look like nobody has ever used it. Then you enter your US PSN ID and it will log you in.

You can use any memory card for BOTH accounts if you like. All that happens is that anything you buy on the US account is hidden from the UK one and vice versa. Most demos seem to be playable on all accounts no matter which one downloaded it.

So you would be on your UK account playing Uncharted for example, would go to the Settings, select factory reset, select "no" when it asks you if you want to format the memory card, it will reboot and you then enter your US PSN ID and password. You'll then be able to see your MLB download and play it.

When you want to go back to your UK account you go into settings and do the same thing again. When it boots up you just put your UK account details in and all the content you bought on the UK account is visible again.

There is no reason for you to lose any saves or data for anything other than your network which you'd have to put in again every time.

I suppose a lot of your decision will be based on if this online code works from a UK account or not or if you even want to play online and transfer your save to the PS3.

If you don't want to play online and don't want to transfer your save just get the cart and you'll be able to play on your UK account. If that online pass doesn't work on anything other than US accounts and you DO want to play online or transfer your save to the PS3 then you might as well download the game and save the money.

I'm eager to see how an fps game plays on the Vita with the sticks, that was one genre of games that the PSP really struggled with due to the controls.

Shame we have to wait until end of May for Resistance: Burning Skies.

The reason I want to download it, is mainly time... ordering will mean im waiting probably 4-7 days to get it from the States.

Does this factory reset stuff cause many problems? I mean doing it over and over again?

It's very simple and will not harm anything. If you are unsure then do a full backup using the content manager and have a go. The Vita will be fine.



Just completed Uncharted on Hard for the first time. First Uncharted I've enjoyed the shooting parts of! I was 5 short of the 250 headshots trophy which was a bummer but I'm looking forward to playing through on crushing at some point. I've never had the desire to do that with an Uncharted before as I just hated the gunplay and would get frustrated as I'm pants at it but no such problem here.

Yeah.. its managed to turn on now that it got some charge and I think that the case is the only possible cause I can think of which could cause a fully charged battery to drain after a day without use except for a faulty battery.

I most likely will be cutting some space for the power button to prevent it happening again.

Yeah if the Vita battery is totally dead it won't turn on as soon as you put some power in, it's like it wants a minimum level before it'll allow you to turn it on.

Getting extremely tempted by a PS Vita, would use it a fair bit at home and on my bus journeys to work. Who is offering the best bundle deal at the moment on one? Struggling with Googling it at the moment so this is the best place to ask!

What games have caught your eye, that will have a bearing on what bundles are best.

Amazon are doing the WiFi + 8GB + Fifa/Rayman/Lumines/VT4 for £232

And FYI, I was playing Uncharted on the train to and from work yesterday as well as for about 4 hours when I got home from work. Didn't go to bed until 1AM because I finished it lol.

For me being able to play the games on offer in the living room while the wife watches crap TV was one of the main draws for me but I'm finding I not only play it then, I just play it all the time.

Just brought my PS VITA WI FI with 4gb memory stick and Uncharted.

Is there anything i should know, any new firmware updates etc?

When you boot up and it asks if you have a PSN account click no. Then you can update to the latest 1.61 firmware. If you click yes and enter your details you get into a loop.

Add yourself and your games to spreadsheet in this post. Loads of other people on there too so you can add friends with similar tastes.

If real this is amazing

There has been massive speculation about Final Fantasy type 0 getting a Vita version in the West since Square admitted that there was a localisation on the way but we all knew PSP was almost dead here. Really happy if this is true.

Also a GTA game would be sweet and even more so if it's it's a version all of it's own.

Just to let you all know, that FF type-0 and GTA rumour from eurogamer was all a hoax.

For anyone who has the 3G model. A member on NeoGAF just switched over from his Vodafone sim to the Dida Mobile ones (3gb a month, 6 months, £29 total from eBay) and it's working fine and he got downloads of 4.4MBbps. My best Voda speed has been 2.1Mbps.


EDIT: There is a patch out for Motorstorm. It improves the syncing of data between the PS3 and Vita versions and a couple of minor bits.

Incredibly I've downloaded it on the Vita while doing other things, on the PS3 you can't do anything else while it downloads just like every other patch!

Just looked at some of the price of new games coming to the vita £39.99,thought uncharted was dear at £34..

The rrp for Uncharted is £45. That retailers are discounting it is just good for us.

Im having a few issues with Motorstorm. Im trying very hard to get three medals in all races AND beat some peoples times on the wall however everyone seems way faster than I am even in straights. When I look at the vehicle selections there are NO stats so I assumed that all vehicles handled and were the same with speed and it was just an asthetics thing but is this not the case?

This game is great but I am getting increasingly frustrated that I cant even get two medals on some maps and its not a skill issue its really a speed issue. Everyone else is just faster and I dont get it? Can someone please shed some light on to this for me lol

The car you are given for every track is exactly the same as we all get given, there are only different liveries for each car. There are differnet cars that handle differently but you don't get to make that choice.

If you are finding that you are slower on the straights it's because you are not carrying enough speed through the corners. Sort out your apex's and braking where requeired and you'll get there. Use other's ghost arrows to give you an idea for racing lines.

I think Murray and Syronin are generally the fastest from the people I have on my friends list. I've got a few fastest times but I'm sure they'll go. I did pick off a few of Syronins today as his name appeared on my pitwall

Well i have accepted all the friend requests ive got which is 20 or so, Im assuming all from here

Played some more Uncharted on in it tonight, Im used to the camera now i still think its pap but im managing. Some of the scenes in the game are stunning though! Vita is awesome so far.

Im VERY VERY tempted to get FFX on this over PS3 when it finally comes out

I'm also contemplating FFX on this over the PS3. I completed it on the PS2 but it's a game that is going to take hours to complete again and on that basis I'm more likely to do so on the Vita. I just have more change to play that than the PS3.

got a few decent times on moto storm. beaten a fair few friends from my list also however i dont have my pit wall trophie for some reason add me H3RBSKI_ they need to fix the vita friends lists! i dont get requests until i log onto my ps3.

Were you beating their times from the pit wall or just beating them in the races? You only get the trophy if you select the time from the pitwall and then it loads up and you get a "challenge beaten" message.

If you beat 10 you get a trophy, if you beat 20 you unlock another livery apparently. I'm at about 15 but I need more times to beat

When the heck is unit 13 out? i purposly put £30 on the psn tuesday so i could buy it from the store on weds. but then they decide its not going on the store until friday... so its now friday and mass effect has been added but mot unit 13. this mean i gotta wait till 6pm tonight when the store gets updated again? getting rather annoying

Hopefully it'll be out before then! I've not played the Demo yet and shooters are not typically my thing so I probably won't get it anyway, but I know plenty of folk do.

It was indeed me The one I ordered and had to modify works perfectly but the small one that I hoped might do it without a mod does not at all .

Kreeeee has suggested that charging with the modded one might cause damage to some portable battery chargers as they are being sucked harder than they want though.

I have accepted all friends requests but some of your times aren't showing. Db85, I have your times and have beaten all of them for the races I have completed.

When did you beat them? I'll have to have a look but when I was playing yesterday around lunchtime the only people who were regularly faster than me were Syronin and Murray (Muracle on PSN). MrMen was faster on a couple and there might have been a couple of others in places.

Will have to play it today and see


EDIT: BTW I love that in Motorstorm the PS3 version has all of my fastest times and stats transferred from the Vita version so that I can just pick up and play and still see exactly what my best is. When full big games support this I'm going to be in heaven.

It makes me laugh that everyone expected it to be out on Wednesday when UK launchs for games are always Friday as Isaid about 20 pages ago in this thread. The only times its not a Friday is special launch events like simutaneous worldwide launches or consoles launches. Its out in shops now and will be on the store at some point

But I do agree it should be on the store now..

Does anyone know if you buy the game from the store does it come with the network pass as there is an option to buy the pass that comes with the hard copy of the game.

As I said at the time, everything we had form Sony said Wednesday including the announcement they put out on Tuesday! It was only in a bloody comment that anyone confirmed that it was actually Friday here.

Should be, afaik network pass purchase is only required if you've bought the game 2nd hand?

Network apsses are included in all new games. Only if you buy 2nd hand will you need to but the network pass.

MGS HD was confirmed for the 28th June. No word yet on if that is Japan only or WW.
Phantasy Star Online 2 will be coming to Vita and is now no longer a PC exclusive. Players will play on the same server and will be able to play as the same character on both.
Sony added 62 new titles to the UMD transfer programme for those in Japan.

No UMD programme outside of Japan. They cited the fact that PSP games are much cheaper here on the PSN than in Japan as part of the reason.

Is that MGS made for just Vita or an old one refreshed?

It's MGS 2 and 3 remastered in HD for the 360/PS3/Vita.

If you own the Vita and PS3 versions you can transfer your save between them.
