***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

I Hope there more then just that in the new firmware :(

A few people have reported it being a very fast download and install, the UI feeling a bit better, being able to turn trophy notifications off (you still get the sound), also downloads continue if YOU put the Vita to sleep (previously they would stop and only continue if it fell asleep on its own), Near seems to be working for more people, also you can now update whenever you like rather than only every x minutes, also when something is installing you get a progress bar.

So it seems that as is always the case, what they tell you is new isn't ALL that is new/fixed. Who knows what else they've tweaked that we don't know about.

Finally picked up my charger from work this morning so I can play again. 1.66 is downloading now.

Motorstorm RC Carnival pack will be right behind it.

No PS+ discount this time though.

Nearly finished the second expansion for Motorstorm. Would have liked both of them to have faster times to get all three medals but it's still been very enjoyable for a couple of quid.

Finished the two Motorstorm DLCs, I still hate the drift events but I set a couple of corking times on the final two. Back on days now so back to Rayman on the commute and on lunch.

My 3G seems to be having some issue. It's had a Dida Mobile sim in it for about 3 weeks and was working perfectly, now I just get some grey signal bars and a grey cross in the top left corner. No "No Signal" or "Dida Mobile" text at all. My account still has 2.9GB left on it for this month so it's an odd one.

Trying to find another sim/phone to work out if it is the sim or the Vita.

Seems that loads of Dida Mobile sims got deactivated around the start of April. I have requested a refund as I'd only used 21.5MB of data from a 3GB allowance for the first month!

More importantly, a Resistance Trailer is out, the game is out on the 30th of May

Also the free extra levels for Escape Plan are out along with the patch. Now the amount of gestures you use are NOT taken into account for the Star Rating, instead it is just based on time. Also the patch improves a few other bits here and there.

Also we have a new Mortal Kombat trailer, the game is out on the 4th of May.

A new game was also added on the 11th of April, StarDrone Extreme
http://youtu.be/mwr***RxvgE - The excellent swear filter is making 3 characters star out in the link, make them Q F T.

Eurogamer gave the PS3 version a 8/10, and the Vita version game features Cross Play with the PS3 allowing you to transfer your save as well as a host of improvements. Oh, and it costs just £3.19.

I went through a phase where I knew I was going to buy a PS Vita. But I have lost interest in it. I think this will be like the PSP which will run out of good games in a couple of months.

It's in a dry patch at the moment however over the next couple of months there are several games coming out, Mortal Kombat, Resistance, Gravity Rush, Disgaea 3, all by June 13th.

Also still the MGS collection, Killzone, COD, LBP, Ass Creed also all probably this year.

I really do think they could have, and should have held back a few of the launch games. Some of them needed more time anyway (Modnation for one) and then they would have had some games coming out more regularly in its first 3-6 months.

Sony announced 3 new apps coming to the Vita, Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake-Up Club.

Painting park is as you would expect, a painting app which allows you to create on your own or with friends. Available this week.

Treasure park allows you to create your own puzzles for others. Available "in the summer".

Wake-Up Club is an alarm clock with a display showing you all your friends alarm times also. Available "in the summer".

In more important news, I'm still loving Rayman.

Also The guy who sold me the Dida Mobile sim on ebay has got back to me and is looking in to it. I'm expecting a refund as others have gotten one easily enough.

Does this stream PS3 games with mods does anyone know?

There are no hacks oiut for the Vita, only for the PSP emulator from inside the Vita. That only enables you to do exxactly what you could do on the PSP.

If you want to play PS3 games over remote play you need a hacked PS3, not a hacked Vita.

About halfway through Rayman at the moment. Some fiendishly difficult stages already and I expect it to get harder. Once I'm done with the main levels on that I'll attack wipeout with some vigour and then drop back into Rayman for short bursts to try and get a few more pink jobbies on my medallions.

I know there has been a new game drought since launch day but I've still got games I've barely scratched the surface on and a couple I still want to buy. Hopefully Gravity Rush/Daze gets the same kind of reception if did from the Japanese Vita audience!

MK looks fine in motion though it could probably have looked better. Once again the screenshot function is not doing the game any favours at all. Most reviews are between 8 and 9 so it can't be that bad.

Also Atlus just emailed a bunch of folk telling them that Persona 4 will be out in the US in the Autumn so for anyone interested it definitely is getting a western release.

On the subject of the game drought, now that PS Suite is finally in Open Beta I've already seen a few nice little projects people have been playing with. Hopefully once it goes live properly we'll get a lot of nice small games and apps as options as well. One dev ported his Android game in 6 hours.

so my boy got Mortal Kombat and he let me have a go 1st, got some achievements and having some fun on the challanges, overall a good game. But then my boy puts it in his vita and say's he won't get any achievements until he deleate's 1st user data because the 1st time it's used it ties itself to that vita. What a load of oxo's that is, cheers Sony. So if the game is sold on to someone else then unless they deleate from their vita the game won't unlock achievements for the new user who get's it 2nd hand, this could become a problem with 2nd hand game - so fair warning to those who buy 2nd hand in future it seems depending on what game company!

Anyway what i did was back up the save via pc content manger, deleated save on vita, this then worked fine on boy's vita with achievements and he'll have to do same if i want to continue later by transfering save back, lol, what a mess Sony has been making!

It's standard on a lot of the carts IIRC. You can still get achievments on 2nd hand games, you just need to wipe the cart first.

Anyway, a White Vita is coming out in Japan on the 28th of June. a themed white one is out on the 30th of August.

Want.

EDIT: Also Pixeljunk Monsters Deluxe (the psp game) should work on Vitas come May the 15th according to a comment on the US Blog.
