I wonder how this has affected sales. With the PS4 I will be getting no games and just using the PS+ subscription, as I don't want to buy a game that comes up on PS+ for free.

Me too, but on the flip side I will be going PS4 rather than xbox.

As for sales, because of playstation plus ive bought quite a bit more than i would normally with the ps+ discount, its been a big factor in me switching over to playstation after being a pretty happy xbox gamer. I think though with the bigger consoles there is so much content that you are less likely to get duplicates while on the vita because the catalogue is much smaller and they are putting out pretty decent games on it there is a higher chance you will have it but i have stopped completely buying retail games for the vita now, only downloadable or discounted stuff, the 1 year sale I spent about £30 on.
 
It makes the PS4 the perfect second console for me. I won't be fussed about playing the new releases and I get a constant stream of "free" games.
 
Really like the look of these consoles how are they to hold. The buttons seem real close to the edge and my hand use to cramp a bit holding a ds lite. :)
 
games are region free, however any DLC is locked to the region of the game.

example: UK game you can only use a UK PSN account to purchase DLC for said game.
If you have a USA game you can only purchase DLC using a USA account.

If you do find you're experiencing cramp you can get a grip off ebay for about £3 which will elimate that.
 
Ahh cheers guys, really thinking about picking this up :) whats the best games to get at the start? Uncharted looks good and so does wipeout?

Ah, true - I have the first couple of Oddworld games from PS1 days and they look good.....even have International Track & Field (PS1) - which never has looked good ! :D

Vita price drop. Both the Wi-fi and 3G models are 19,980 yen starting from 2/28. That's the equivalent of a $50/$100 drop for the Wi-fi/3G models respectively.
Phantasy Star Online 2 service starts from 2/28. There's also a bundle with the game and a silver Vita on the same day. Same price as above.
Toukiden demo is shown, cross-play aspects with PSP are talked up.
New gameplay for Soul Sacrifice is shown. It's been in development for two years. Inafune says the game is only possible on the Vita.
Trailer for Valhalla Knights 3 is shown.
Trailer for Eiyuu Densetsu: Sen no Kiseki is shown. 3D JRPG by Falcom.
Gundam Breaker footage is shown, comes out 2013.
God Eater 2 is shown next. You can transfer data from God Eater Burst.
New trailer for Dragon's Crown is shown. It's still coming in 2013.
Final Fantasy X HD is shown running on the Vita. Hashimoto apologizes for taking so long with the game. Proper reveal of the title coming "soon".
