So I gave in and bought a bundle from ShopTo and it should be here today.

Need to pick up a memory card, will 4GB be enough? Just want to download the odd apps and maybe 1 or 2 classics?

Sony have said piracy. With the format as it is, unless they license the technology to someone nobody can make a card reader or 3rd party cards without landing themselves a law suit. If it just used SD or one of the existing formats you could just put it in your PC and copy anything you liked to it which might allow you to hack it which Sony don't want.

Also don't forget different cards have different write speeds so that might have something to do with it.

I expect a chunk of it is money making though. The cards are expensive compared to Micro SD for example. I don't really have an issue with it though it would be nice if cheaper. Apple charge £80 for an extra 32GB so it's hardly unheard of.

To change the lock screen you need to open an image in the Photos app. When you iniially open it and get to the Live Area, click on the photo album in the bottom right and then navigate to the image you want. Once open, click the ... in the bottom left of the screen and set it as your start screen.

To change normal page backgrounds, hold your finger down on one of the bubbles for a few seconds and you'll go into edit mode. From there you can move bubbles around and change backgrounds for each page or add new pages.

Yes. But I don't play online as my internet is crap which pretty much removes all PS3 games. More games have a-sync options on the vita which is perfect for me.

It's going in to standby mode. The default time is 1 minute and you can change it to 5 in the settings.

4GB will be enough for 2 or 3 PSN games if you want them, PSP games are usually maxed at 1.4GB I think but few got that large.

There are probably going to be a few 8GBs going on the MM/ebay fairly cheap over the next few days as everyone got one with a bundle pretty much and lots bought 16 or 32s to replace them.

I have Escape Plan (850MB), Motorstorm RC (695MB) Fifa Demo (1.66GB), Wipeout (1.65GB), Super Stardust Delta (232MB) and the A-Men demo (207MB) on my 8GB as well as 950MB of videos. I have 1.2GB free.

4GB will certainly be enough to get you going.
 
Just noticed you can comment on your friends activities in Near.

Kinger_8938 has been giving Uncharted a good kicking!
 
anyone been playing escape plan, seems decent but I can't get the dude to sprint by squeezing him? the hint seems to suggest using front and back screen but I just cant do it lol
 
It would be good if you could use the install from the physical card onto memory card so the game could make use of both for quicker loading times.

I dont have my vita so dont know if it does actually do this allready.
 
Having a bit of a problem here. After a lengthy session of Everybody's golf yesterday, I shut down the vita by powering off. I have come to turn it on this morning and the bloomin' thing will not turn on. So I have plugged into my laptop and it's charging, (PS logo is orange) and the lappy can access the vita. Strange.

I know if there is not enough power in the battery it won't turn on, but there was about half a bar of power left when I turned it off.

You cannot. If you think about it, what would stop you selling the game? The only way they could do it would be to then tie each cart to the account that registered it, that would probably mean more expensive carts.

Did you power it off, or just tap the power button to put it into standby? To power it off full you have to hold the power button down for a few seconds and it'll ask if you want to turn off.

Also, Ryryryan, consider yourself embarrassed on Eat My Dust. Mwhaha. Love the competitive nature of Motorstorm RC. Also glad I have the 3G to upload and download ghosts when I'm on the train and stuff.

*Edit, just got it working, had to hold the button for more than 30 secs, then leave for a couple of mins and then turn it on. Strnge that it wouldn't turn straight on though*
