PlayStation VR / VR2

Played Arkham VR briefly on PS Pro.

Could definitely see an improvement in image quality compard to the standard PS4. I assume it is super-sampled or something but it was a nice little upgrade

Quick question

How close to your eyes do you wear the VR headset? I've noticed the closer I have it, the more immersive it feels but I get a weird lens effect over on the far right hand side of my peripheral vision. To remove it, I have to move the headset further away which whilst still great, it feels like I'm wearing a racing crash helmet if that makes sense.

Played London Heist tonight, and my god is that just wrong on so many levels lol sat in the pub smoking the cigar is a very strange experience, especially when smoke comes out of your mouth. Honestly, I could have sat in that pub all night.

I have mine at the closest it will go.

I have it as close as possible as well.

I found I needed the head band to be pretty much near the top of my head (the setup process indicates it should go on at an angle but I found its better almost horizontal)

Worth fiddling around with that to get it perfect.

Thinking of buying one but,, the motion sickness worrys me, it affected me pretty bad on a Samsung phone VR.
Are all people affected in some way? or is it just a matter of getting used to it?
I don't want to throw money down the drain

Only felt sick with 2 games so far. A 3d platform game (felt unwell going into the screen). Had to stop.

Battlezone gave me slight motion sickness, but not enough to stop playing.

Knowing this effects people in different ways, Sony should provide demos for all games.

i put mine on just slightly further out than my eyelashes go so they don't brush against it, it's close but sometimes i see the lens distortion but once i'm playing i forget it's there. i'm more bothered about the little bit of light coming up the nose flap but again i forget about it once i'm playing.

Thanks! It seems an awful lot of people experience the same thing which reassures me that I don't have a faulty unit.

Wearing the headset as close as it can go (eyelashes hitting the lens) is fantastic for immersion but the side issues with the lens I mentioned ruin the experience. I also move it a few mm forward so it's removed. Just means I have a small black circle around my peripheral vision but it's not too bad.

Just a thought but in a game like resident evil wouldn't motion sickness be removed if the player would walk in the direction your looking rather than trying to play it like a typical fps? I really don't like the 30,45 angle jump and if I switch it to the other option it gives me quite a bit of motion sickness. And maybe have a quick turn to run the other way :)

Smooth turning with highest sensitivity works great. I haven't had any motion sickness with it and neither have the 3 other people who've tried it at mine. The jerky turning was weird and I wasn't a fan either. What did give motion sickness was turning off the fov setting (or whatever it is that lets you see everything in your peripheral). Leaving that at the default was fine though. I just preordered - super hyped!

I think RIGS had a control scheme similar to that idea and personally I didn't find it make the motion sickness any better.

The issue with trying to make RE7 VR compatible is that it comes at the cost of disregarding all of the VR comfort rules that have been established over the past couple of years. I'm still hopeful that the motion sickness is something that will get easier over time as you get used to using it.
