PlayStation VR / VR2

Very impressed, just got a PSVR second hand off here, spent the last few hours playing various things and although the fidelity is lacking, the immersion is incredible.

My favourite experiences are Eve and the Battlefront VR mission, it's the only way we will ever realistically go to space in our lifetime...

Going to pick up a couple of move controllers next!

When you’ve got the move controllers checkout London Heist and Rush of Blood, they’re awesome with the Controllers :)

picked up the PSVR and also the Farpoint/Aim controller, really impressed the controller doesn't look much but in-game its awesome I hope its compatible with Doom VR when its out!

24 hours with the PSVR and I do like it a lot, I have the HTC vive as well and although the PSVR spec wise is inferior I have to say it was a more comfortable experience than the vive plus the controls, games are much better and the HMD doesn't get hot like the Vive

The one thing I don't like is that HDR is disabled on my PS4 Pro when its plugged into the breakout box so is a pain to switch the hdmi cables when playing Non VR.

games I have played so far
- Farpoint - 10 mins played loved it with the aim controller
- Until dawn rush of blood - good fun
- Battlefront X-wing mission - loved it
- Resident Evil - Awesome/scared crap outta me
- GT Sport - was ok played 5 mins then sold it on here
- Arizona Sunshine - wasn't as good as it is in the Vive (controls let it down even with the move)

I have star trek bridge crew to try later :)

I thought you would have tried the VR at Andy's. Even so, Pinball FX is available for the psvr. It might not be pure pinball, but in VR it's the DB's, you'll love it.
You ever hook up with a vive or a rift, Zaccaria pinball is very much pure pin. The 2000 remakes play like early 90's bally machines.

I had tried VR in the past but on the DK1 and DK2 I found the screen door effect pretty distracting.

I never saw the appeal of VR Pinball when the real thing was abundant there, alas most of the pins have now gone and video arcade machines don't really don't for me.

Add to that I don't really have the time to spend 3 hours driving a round trip there!

Yeah I get that, my round trip takes as long. I thought though that the pins had been moved to the other floor?
Give VR pinball another go though, it's literally blown me away. Even Future Pinball has some merit when playing it in VR/

If it's space games that are doing it though, look towards Everspace, X-rebirth, Elite D, House of the dying sun. Not so sure what's available for the psvr, but those might convince to upgrade to a pc solution:)

Plays RIGS for the first time last night, pretty hard game, turned off the motion sickness aids and I was fine, the corners darkening when turning actually made me feel worse!

yeah that's so annoying, it does it in "here they lie" too, it looks like it would be a good game but i can't play it as it's too distracting and can't find an option to turn it off.

Workaround for the HDR issue is to get a HDMI switch I believe.
got a switch but didn't work very well .. PS runs through an AV amp and it didn't like it much .. will work direct to tv but still had to hot swap HDMI cables to get it to run

so much Faff .. god knows why Sony didn't run it with support

Is a shame you weren't aware of the HDR issue, if you held on for another month or so there's a new SKU that supports HDR pass-through coming out.

I wonder if Sony would sell the PU separately or offer to swap out your existing one.

Ordered a different switch .. hopefully I can get a workaround

Save your money and simply get a female HDMI coupler. Just unplug both cables from the rear of the VR box and connect together with coupler. Makes things easier but may still be too much bother for some though.

I have to admit I am impressed with the VR.. Now. I bought a VR at launch and sold it shortly after as there was no 3D BR support at the time. So recently I had the opportunity to buy one at a great price so I did as I now have a PS4 Pro. WOW what a transformation with the Pro. The resolution and frame rate is significantly improved. The graininess of the graphics seem to be significantly reduced and I didn't have any issues with bluring that I had originally. I have a condition in my left eye that makes seeing VR/3D an issue but I didn't experience it at all. Even the theatre mode resolution seems to have improved and 1080p movie streamed on plex looked great.

Does anyone know if a 3D movie streamed via plex will work with the VR?
