Please call us for a quote....

You bringing the mystery car to the meet?

El, he drives an 820. Same engine as mine in a bigger car. I think he's paying £460, full NCB, no points. Lives at the BL4 postcode where I used to live.

Just tried Direct Line, they can't give me a quote over the net. Also, they don't like it when I say I've been driving a year and have 2 years NCB

Can you lie about how long you've had your license for? It'll be 2 years in August.

Yep Andy, I've done PP.

I'm pretty sure I'll get a decent quote off NUD if I ring up. Just had a quote on their website with me being 21 with 3 years NCB... £789 :D

Cheers for that Andy, just what I wanted to hear :)

I know Simon was trying to help, but for the moment (and no doubt the next year or so) the GSi will be plenty fast for me... hell, the 214 can still bring a smile to my face.

It's going to be awesome to have the power there when needed. What's that... need to overtake a car uphill, not a problem

The 214 was quick enough on the straights, but the 220 is going to feel like a rocket in comparison.

Wooo, cheapest quote I've had so far is £1229 :)

That's from Elephant, 2 years NCB, mum and step dad on the policy.

I'll be buying on Friday morning. Will I be ok to pick the car up Friday night?

Ah cool, cheers Tom :) Just wasn't sure if it might take a day or two the computers to set the policy up.

Now just have to ring them up to sort out a monthly/quarterly payment plan.

Can't wait until I get the car, althouh I kinda wish I'd have waited. Can't really afford to get it if I'm not sure if mine will sell straight away (as I owe my bank £180 - stupid charges  ) but ah well, you only live once.

Also sorted out myself a set of alloys... hopefully pick those up shortly after I get paid in April.

Behold...

No idea mate.

They're in quite good condition with good tyres. Not much curbing. I won't be able to keep them as my mums' fiancee will throw a wobbler.

Probably sell them on the bay for £50 or something.

The ones on the GSi? They're the same ones on the SEi :) Standard Rover 7 spokes.

The ones I'm getting are Mille Miglia somethings...

not another rover i like the look of! thats 2 in one night i need sleep. lol.
a freind had or still has a 220 coupe and wow it was slow. my nova just left it for dead everytime in every situation, starts and top end. but if your happy with it :) i thin you should gte a quote on the turbo tho. i woudl rtaher have a standard 220 turbo than any mods on any 220 NA and if the price is the same

Thanks for the reply, but don't you read threads? ;) Have you seen how much I'm going to be paying on the 220 NASP? A turbo just isn't feasible at the moment, however much I'd like one.

I'd really go a long way from saying that the 220 is slow. I doubt your Nova was any quicker really :)

And I'd like to see how you came to the conclusion that the 220 NASP would cost the same as the turbo.

Anyway, sorry if this post makes me sound a bit snappy. I'm not honestly, but to me it did sound that way, so I'm sorry :(

Right, another update from me... sorry...

Rang up this morning, and my great quote of £1240 for the year is now £1560... damn monthly payments

Ah well, I wasn't going to turn back at this stage.

Picking it up tonight :)

OMFG!!! Jez you ****! Why did you have to post that! :p

That's a hell of a good quote.

I wish I still lived back at the old house (before I moved to my dads). I'd have been able to insure a GSI-T no problems there.

Funny thing is, my Mum has even said that the current house (OL16) is cheaper than the old house (M26) for her.

Admiral, at £1240 was the cheapest quote I'd had. At £1560 I'm just ****** off.

Nope, I haven't. That's probably the only place I didn't try, and that was because I didn't know they even did insurance :(

I'll try a quote tonight. As long as I'm insured to drive the car home tonight I'm not fussed. It can sit on the drive for a week and I'll just use the 214 until I get good quotes, lol.
