I was responding to a comment fowler002 made.

Oh, and Geo-Gamer,
You have what PSU in your rig?
btw i stumbled across this
Just making me think i should just go for the 6950 due to my mobo being xfire compatable? I can also pop another card in the near future
oh this was fun, get people replying then just end up getting what you wanted in the first place.
what motherboard? many say xfire supported but due to pci-e 'lanes' they're not suited fror xfire.
Gigabyte H55M-UD2H
What do you think of the results i posted? it looks like the 6950 is on par with the 570.
Crossfire? its a 16X/4X board.
Stick to single cards.
Looking at the link I posted after at a higher resolution I would say the GTX570 is a touch faster.
Ahh im baffed hehe, coz when i was looking at my mobo when installing it has two pci e slots with the mobo engraved saying ' crossfire'.
What makes u say to stick to single cards?
It's Crossfire compatible but the second x16 slot only runs at x4 speed which can be a bottleneck on performance.
Some benchmarks here showing the effect of running at x16/x4 like your motherboard.

Just bought myself a Radeon Toxic from OCUK and flicked the switch to unlock it to a 6970, so they are still out there if you can find them![]()
i dont know if i should get the toxic or go for the msi TIII power edition as that looks pretty sweet in specs! Are the chances of unlocking the toxic a coin toss? The Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" has a dual bios and the reviews say it unlocks to 6970

Just to add my tuppence worth. I have a 560ti and I get average 65 fps @1920x1080 on high settings.
It is the Gigabyte 560ti OC @ 900
ultra is lower but still playable but I stick with high as that surfices.
You mention on ultra its a bit lower, do you rekon its becuase of the low vram due to ultra needing the extra vram? I keep reading bf3 sometimes uses 1.2 gb vram +
