Excellent, thanks guys - with afterburner I put the fan on auto and having clocked at the same as the other guy got ~4400 temps at 92 and I could hear the fan building up.

I'd set a fan profile, 105 is bad.

Cheers, I never knew about this and now need to learn how to get the best balance between noise and temps, at the moment 82% fan @ 65deg but it's too noisy I'll get there eventually

I would redo the TIM and have fan 100%, and no the fan should ramp up unless its locked in Afterburner or Precision to manual.

again, many thanks - the fan is too loud at 100% I hope to get something around 60%. I replaced the TIM but it made no difference (as far as I can tell) - mind you, I might not have applied enough (and my paste ran out).
