Hi, guys, I've been planning my first build for a while and am at the point of nearly ordering my parts. I'm new to the pc building world so it would just ease my mind if I had some comments on my choice of parts from more experienced people than myself! The build is focused on getting good performance on new games and particularly flight simulator. (Xplane11 etc).
My budget is loosely around the 1500 pound mark but my build is coming around JUST under which is great!

Here are my parts:
  • CPU - I7-9700K - 323.99
  • GPU - RTX 2080 Super - MSI GAMING X TRIO 8GB - 709.99
  • CPU COOLER - COOLERMASTER 240L RGB - 42.99
  • MOTHERBOARD - MSI MPG GAMING EDGE Z390 - 136.98
  • CASE - CORSAIR CARBIDE 275R (WHITE) - 60.00
  • PSU - 750W CORSAIR GOLD FULLY MODULAR - 85.00
  • RAM - 2X8GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE 3000MHZ - 58.00
  • STORAGE // 2TB BARRACUDA HDD 3.5'' & KINGSTON A2000 500GB M.2 - 56.99
BUILD = 1475.00 POUNDS

Please let me know honest opinions about this build.
  • Could I get away with a 650w PSU?
  • Should I get 3200Mhz instead of 3000mhz of RAM?
  • Is an M.2 Drive necessary?
The biggest question of all, SHOULD I GET ORDERING?!?!!

Thanks for your time peeps :cool:

Hey thanks for your reply.

I notice AMD has a slightly lower overclock speed at 4.5ghz but in games I suppose you wouldn’t really notice a significant difference?
