Please help me, home built computer will not work at all.

Did you just remove the GPU to take the photo?

As for DIABLO's post, this is very important. The case comes with stand-offs, little cylindrical pieces of metal that attach to the case. The motherboard is placed on these stand-offs and screwed down through them. If these stand-offs are in the wrong places they can short the motherboard and cause it to not work.

I'd disconnect everything, unscrew the board from the stand-offs and ensure that only the ones that are required (the ones that line up with the holes) are present.

Edit: Cripes, did you connect the board directly to the metal case?

Bit of a long-shot but is the clear CMOS jumper in the correct position? Often, if it's in the 'clear' position, the PC seems pretty dead all round.

sadly i did, im a bit of a noob, bad i take it? :S. I originally tried using these stand offs to connect it, however i couldnt fathom how to screw them on, so i used a normal screw instead.

As above, there are little brass standoffs that screw into the case, which you then screw the motherboard into so it doesn't short itself on the case. They look like this

Each hole in the mobo should have one of those behind it and be screwed in. Also, could you get a better pic of the mobo where you have the 24pin power connected? It's hidden by all that cabling. Have you tried plugging the power switch in the other way round?

Yeah thats what i was looking at, if he'd of used the IO shield he would have seen something was wrong though as the holes would'nt off lined up.

Show us some pics that show ALL of the connections so we can find out for sure if your board is dead or if you've missed something.

yeh iv sort of missplaced my IO Shield, so everythings back in place now, stand offs in, screwed etc, but the fan still wont start up, any ideas?

here is one of the images i took before i got the stand offs in(dont worry theyre in now), but i noticed this whole area looked a little...empty o.O. Anything important go here? i took out the GFX card just to highlight the emptyness i was seeing

Nah that's fine. What I really want to see is the top right hand side of the board to see if the 24pin is in properly.

now you mention CMOS jumper i noticed on my MB that the 'CMOS' plug was empty and i couldnt see any leads that i had that plugged into it, this a bad thing ? please dont hate me, im just dim
