Please help me, home built computer will not work at all.

Look in the manual and see if the motherboard has any status LED's and if so are they lit when you turn it on? And doe's the powersupply power up now without jump starting it?

EDIT: it was'nt powering up before because it was shorting, connect the plug back into the mother board and try again.

That highlight on the crop you did made me look like a proper penis, well be seeing it on 4chan in no time >< haha. what are the chances of it blowing my Mobo? because when i unscrewed it(when it had no stand offs) it was pressed down quite hard, and i think i saw some scratches on the case

OMG! right ok. I plugged it in, i get the LED light thing, some greens and reds in there, tried taking a pic, flash sort of cancelled the light out, fan starts up!!, after a random amount of time though it seems to like turning off, is this because its a new mobo and i need to install some stuff?

is the 4 pin power supply fitted? On my very st build this was the case, was eff'in & jeff'in when I realised the simple mistake.

now you mention CMOS jumper i noticed on my MB that the 'CMOS' plug was empty and i couldnt see any leads that i had that plugged into it, this a bad thing ? please dont hate me, im just dim

That's fine. If you look on page 30 of the manual you'll see that nothing connected to the CMOS pins is normal. Only when they are connected will the CMOS be reset (which would also cause the board to appear to be dead).

So is the motherboard now properly mounted on the stand-offs, screwed in through them, graphics card installed and the 4 pin and 24 pins power plugs connected? If this is the case, are you getting any signs of life?

lol, you do need that 24pin plugged in. Get your gfx card plugged in and let us know if you get anything on the screen.

13 days late...............lol. Sorry dude... Is your pc connedted to a monitor? If all is working it should be going up with a message saying. "Boot from cd" if it does your in business then its time to install windows... Good luck!!!

Sorry, i just have to say.

STOP POWERING YOUR BOARD WITH A 4 PIN POWER CONNECTER BY JUMP STARTING YOUR PSU WITH A PAPERCLIP, PLUG THE 24PIN IN.

Thanks. And btw mate, can you take a pic of your whole board now so we can see what's going on :)

OK pic will be up in a sec, like i said, i have power, fan is working, lights come on on the LED for about 10 secs, then go off? Case LED is working, no visual...yet

obviously i still need to plug in the audio and stuff, but this is it

Read the manual to see what the LED's mean.

And screw the damn GPU in before you knock it out while it's turned on and knacker something else!
