Haha, love it!

Seriously though, off all the supermarket self service checkouts, Morrsions is by far the worst, no exaggeration, 8 out of 10 times i use it, i need a checkout assistant to sort the machine out when it says wrong weight, well i never weighed the bloody bottle of pepsi out did i? They need to put a little tolerance either way imo. That supervisor in morrisons is always at a self service kiosk.

Agreed the morrisons ones are the worst.

That said, it seems to be a requirement that self service check out monkies are hired on the basis of their inattentiveness and distractibility. Women employees that natter with colleegues while all the red attention required lights are flashing drive me nutts. Do your job you ****.

I object to the self service tills through principle. The price of the goods includes the costs associated with providing a cashier. Yet if I use the self service then I don't get a discount. If they gave me a discount for doing the job of a cashier then I'd use them more.

I use self service and avoid manned tills because i can't stand that little fake smile, hello moment. No, **** off, i am here to do my shopping not be your friend. Oh and if i had a clubcard, i would have given you it already.

Never understood how people struggle with this.

1. Open bag on hangers
2. Scan and chuck item in
3. Insert money/card into machine
4. ???
5. profit

^ This.

It's not like me to be Luddite about a form of technology, but I hate these ******* things with a ******* passion and I'd smash every last one of them in our local Tesco if I could get away with it.

Sadly, if you're in our Tesco after about 6pm you don't have much choice but to use one of these satanic contraptions, as they deliberately have probably only a third of the 50-odd tills actually manned. Loads of self-important, clipboard-wielding, headset-wearing nazis floating about doing three parts of sod all, but no bugger on a till.

Grrrrr

The people there "to assist" take hours also

Its all about the assistant to machine ratio. My local Sainsuburys has pushed the limits to 1:6 which is too much. 1:4 or GTFO.

There a Tesco Express I go to some mornings for a pre work snack and that has 1:8! Luckily its just office workers getting fruit or a sandwich so it doesnt throw a hissy too much.

tesco asda and sainsburys (and m&s) all use ncr . and the issues you mention are load cell failure or poorly setup scales/slab

... I JUST DID... RAGE.

Also, i saw a women with an entire trolley full of toilet roll, instantly thought of south park but also wtf!?! !?

Inb4 Cool Story Bro. :cool::cool:

I know what you mean, first world problems like this are almost as annoying as people feeling the need to put every minute of their inane life on the t'internetz!

Perhaps the woman has a relative with Dysentry??

Ya i hate those goddamn things...

When i first heard of it I thought self service would be more along the lines of a big airport scanner and you just dump your stuff on a conveyor belt and it goes through then you pay, pack, take your stuff and leave. Not me doing what the checkout person does scanning every freaking thing.

Please insert your card into the reader, or swipe your card in the side of the monitor, if your card does not have a chip.

30 seconds after inserting card into reader.

I have to laugh at how many thick people say "what's a monitorrrr?".

the asda whore is annoying, it doesn't weigh the bags that we now have to pay for...thanks obama.... and waiting for the staff to come over and swipe their card is frustrating. What irritates me more is people in supermarkets that walk in and don't know what they want, they stand there staring at the shelves as if they have got nothing better to do than waste time, and then they have these huge trolleys that they block the isle with, so i have stand there fighting the urge to cave their head in with the damn trolley. I only go into a shop if i know what i want to buy or want to check if they have the item i want to buy, otherwise the internet there i can find EVERYTHING I WANT without annoying other people by getting in their way

People have a fear of these machines. In my local Tesco, there will be a queue about 10 deep and the self service machines are vacant.
