pls help: quick easy x2 question...

Tested the theory out the other day and I actually gained 500 points more in 3DMark 2001 by running my ram @ 289Mhz 3/4/3/8 2T instead of 216Mhz 2/2/2/5 2T. I was surprised cause I also believed timings are more important to A64s.
