I just used the new sim and number until it switched over to my old number so I can't really help on that one.
Most people contact me through whatsapp and that worked on the phone still so contact wasn't an issue during the swap.

just in case anyone in interested i tried p.net mobile, signal was crap so rang up to cancel. the guys responses when i gave poor signal as my reason was "o no not another one" so maybe there's a few teething problems there.

That is disappointing given it runs on EE's network, I would have thought coverage was fine, guess not!

If they use EE surely its the same signal range that you would get on EE?

not for me, but if you could make wifi calls i would have stuck with it, but without that ability the lack of signal was a no go for me.
but as i said maybe its just a teething issue

I was on EE before I switched, not noticed any coverage or speed issues.

yep, not that they mean much. it could well of been teething issues in my area. never mind i have cancelled and will probably try again if they sort proper wireless calls/handover
