Plusnet

Which is 21CN enabled so I can uncap your upload if you like (just drop me a private message with your account username if you'd like me to)? It doesn't cost anything.

Best regards,
Would drop you an email but there isn't one set up in your trust.

Similar to the ones I use (mine are a bit cheaper/nastier though ;))

Odd, I never had problems although some of the older kit we shipped did cause some people problems using PSN/XBL.

Best regards,

Hi Bob - I have fibre boradband from plus net, and very pleased with it. Although I currently use an ethernet cable from router to pc, but cant use that now so was looking at the Powerline adapters. Are they any good, and would i notice decrease in speed etc /compatible with fibre bb?

I am with them, have been for years. Where I am is a looong way from the exchange and the connection was around 1Mbps now on fibre and it's a solid 18Mbps. Not close to 40Mbps but considering the line quality I'm really happy and does more than I require.

I also find their staff helpful, takes a while to get through but I'd rather wait than get a quick answer from Mumbai. Don't take that the wrong way but it just isn't as easy to communicate with a non-native English speaker especially when it is a technical issue.

Overall best ISP I've used and would only swap for cable, bear in mind your local exchange (quality) may be a bigger factor than who your ISP is imo.

I am using plusnet while staying at my grans as a temporary measure, i won't be living here for too long so the 1 month rolling contract is great and the price is excellent.

As for service iv never had any problems, can be a bit slow at peak times but i suppose that depends on your exchange but what can you expect for £6.49!

Powerline adapters usually only get to 20% of the speed of what they're rated. It also heavily depends on the quality of the electrical wiring around your home.

And it will be compatible, it's just like a long ethernet wire ;).

Ok thanks I can only get 11mb download with Speedtest & ping 25ms using C prompt, be interesting to see how the Poweline adapter will perform
