The Sam & Max episodes are great, and Machinarium is just fantastic.

Also, whilst not a traditional point&click, maybe check out the Penny Arcade games?

Also I saw this game that looked good, "The Next Big Thing" - is that a game to get.

the 2 i enjoyed recently are whispered world - if you like cartoony/comedy and grey matter by the same author as gabriel knight. if by any chance you havent played the gabriel knights get them on gog!
