Police Officers denied use of a toilet (with inevitable outcome)

I see compensation claims being put in for stress and embarrassment together with having 6 months on the sick due to having sleepless nights because of the duress

According to the police forum, the officer concerned in the original story has opted not to pursue his complaint. I wonder why?

I bet it's because he knew they wouldn't give a crap.

Or that they'd take the **** out of him.

Having a Professional Standards investigation for not following a lawful order will be stressful even if you do get everything dropped.

Truly pathetic excuse Burnsy, you can't be lawfully ordered to keep your excretions in.

I suppose at least one particular officer knows how it feels for the ordinary public when they close motorways for hours.

I agree it wouldn't be a lawful order but that doesn't stop the supervisor from sticking you on and having to endure the 6 month investigation. Trust me, having a PSD investigation having over you for months and months is a stressful and frustrating experience.

Is it lawful to work for that long without a break?

Working time directives usually go out the window with policing. If the radio chirps with an immediate then you have to go. I've often gone 8-10+ hour shifts without a break.

Last weekend I dealt with a nasty job that involved a stabbing albeit thankfully not serious. It was about an hour into the shift and I didn't stop for the other 9 hours. The suspect was nearby knife in hand so was locked up and then it was caring for the victim til medics arrived. Quick bodycam account then locking the scene down before enquiries and a comprehensive handover package for CIDon't the next day.

It's quite normal to work those kinds of shifts without a proper break.

Think it would be another post in the Police Fail Again thread if they wasted money investigating why an officer went to the toilet.

I tend to agree.

Surely this type of thing wouldn't be subject to a professional standards investigation, if that is what burnsy2023 is suggesting?

The source also claimed exhausted bobbies have had to take the wheel of vehicles.

err sorry what? so officers willfully endangered the public because they were told to?

christ most people in a factory are expected to stand up to their boss and say no if it puts people at risk but apprently police are too spineless to do the right thing?
