Police 'to be given powers to view everyone's entire internet history'

Once the left have consolidated power they will be able to identify possible enemy's of their multi-culti utopia. (I know I'm paranoid)

Go ahead. All they'll see is OcUK forums, porn and google play music. :D

Looks like i'll be setting up a VPN on my dedicated server, they might see bugger all in my history but it none of their business!

Hmm you can guarentee any safeguards will be dissolved or abused over time. Fundamentally I'm against it.

No I havent, sorry.

O right ok.

Big airships with many guns that are programmed to shoot everyone that doesn't fit in with hydra (left wing) ideals. All dictated by an algorithm that uses Internet history to select targets.

Access to message data should be done via warrants from judges and not the home secretary - hopefully that's part of the new legislation when they replace DRIPA.

I don't see how it can be done any other way, the warrant part...not who signs off on it.

The ISP cannot reveal encrypted transport message data, only the platform can. Assuming they store it unencrypted or can unencrypt whatever they store.

If they have my internet history can I call them when I'm trying to remember a site I read something interesting on last month and spot what it could have been in my browser history ...>

Many people here saying that they dont care and have nothing to hide are sorta missing the point...

If i start a 'post your history' thread, would you all post in it?

If you would, would you be okay with forcing your wife or family to post in it? (not asking, just forcing)

Nothing to hide applies as much to internet history as it does to clothes, everybody's got something they'd rather not let the world see and if it did at best it'd be frowned upon at worst it'd get you booked.

Imagine the CEOs searches get leaked. The plumit in stock prices when the spend the whole day googling "how to appear as if I'm running a company" :D.

The police as a whole are a bunch of incompetent retards, so I don't expect them to be able to actually keep this data secure if they do get hold of it.

Oh well, it's time for encryption of everything as standard I guess.

Edit: Here we go, standard "think of the children" BS at play to make the case for over-reaching rights of the police. Anyone who disagrees *must* be a paedo:

“And a little bit of the ‘what’, were they on Facebook, or a banking site, or an illegal child-abuse image-sharing website?

I'll leave this brilliant article here to highlight why this stuff doesn't work.

If this passes then I imagine it will be a matter of days before applications are available that spend any time you aren't using your PC making thousands of random requests for URLs and throwing queries at different search engines. You could potentially make the signal to noise ratio so low that the data it gets back is useless.
