6. Boycotted after IW's reaction and total disrespect towards PC Gamers. Probably won't buy on principle now (unless I find a bargain copy, then i may do anyway).
I have really enjoyed all the COD titles so far, but I only ever play them once in single player mode, so paying full price makes no sense. I can wait 6 months for a good price... unlike the assorted collection of, er, "enthusiasts of all ages" who queued for several hours last night at the store I work at. At 1 minute past 12 the queuing broke down and the police were called when tempers got frayed. We ran out of stock before we ran out of would-be buyers.
It was enough to put me off gaming for life! Or at least a few hours.
Over the years i have become increasingly frustrated with the linear approach to cod games, the ever predictable ai and how easy it is to kill people with no real skill involved. Then again i am a Red Orchestra nut so that explains some of it.
Well what was so special about this one that doesnt make it generic ?
Don't get me wrong I really like MW 1. But that does not mean it follows a very generic gameplay genre. You are in First Person View you have a gun you go to tasks A, B + C then you find out you now need to do D. Mission Complete do it again in a different setting.
There was no ground breaking, Magic waving, Breath taking ideas in any of the COD's. Doesnt make it a bad game. Just generic.
I agree the MP thing was pretty crappy to PC owners. But meh I've never really got into MP on COD anyways.
