Zero~ I don't particularly like drinking alcohol...

0000000 - I rarely drink anymore. Surprising for a student but I've decided I don't particularly enjoy it. If I do it's only for the ease of a social situation at a pub or something.

Besides alcohol does bad things to one.

How can you possibly say you don't enjoy drinking? There are so many drinks out there, that cater to any and every taste (and then some).

I'm pretty much a zero alcohol guy for various reasons :)
I think the last time I had a drink it was some really nice cider straight from the mill when I was in Devon about twelve years ago, but I've never really had the taste for alcohol, and it's not a good idea to mix them with some painkillers etc :)

Besides it's funny watching the drinkers getting smashed, and you can't remember the embarrassing moments for them the next day if you get drunk as well...

Living in Bordeaux is killing me... There's too much incredible wine, and it costs peanuts. I don't know how much longer I can take it. :o

Regularly dealing with drunk people also puts me off drinking as much as I did when I was a student.

Depends week to week.

Past week 0,
The week before weeks only 5-8, a quick beer at the pub when my mates are willing to buy me one :p or a beer from dad.
Some weeks when I'm rich, and go out multiple times in the week ( thu, fri and sat) and when I feel well, I can go over the 29 units :p.
9-12 on average past year I guess. One or 2 beers per day, along with 1 drunk night out every week. ( on average, in reality I don't drink at all some weeks, and drink way too much other weeks).

Well bear in mind this forum is not typical of any ONS figures - look at the vote polls, money earning polls, education polls etc... We're a very skewed group of individuals vs general populace. :)

Don't get me wrong I'm fully aware there is nothing normal about the population of this forum :p

I do find the scale of divergance surprising though. I still feel at least a small percentage of those polling zero units are more about appearing to be 'better' than you actually are, obviously I have no evidence to back up that argument but experience and gut feeling can't help but make me doubt the accuracy of the current stats. This forum to some extent and the internet to a greater extent suffers with that split in real and virual personas,

You see, whenever I go back to France to see the family, I always drinks wine. Whenever I go to see my parents I always have a glass or two as well. I love wine (though Champagne is my ultimate favourite drink! :D). The fact that my other half doesn't drink either makes it easier to abstain - though I'd never drink alone really either.,

True this forum is a little odd! :D :p

I agree it did surprise me just how little people on this forum drink - but I wonder if we made it to how many people exercise or drink fizzy drinks it might also show some strange results!

I agree I can totally understand your feeling of "I don't drink ergo I'm l33t"... however, I reckon over 10 years ago the values would have been "I drink LOADS ergo I'm l33t". I guess people's priorities have changed - maybe it's just because we have younger or older members of the forums?

Very little at the moment during the exam period. 0 - 5 per week
However, if we are going out a few nights then 29+

Smithwick's (440ml x6) - 10.6
Beck's (275ml x15) - 21.1

Total = 31.7 units a week

so 29+ for me, that would just be a normal week for me...mainly Thurs night, Fri, Sat at home drinking not including going out which would be prob another 30+ on top. Have to admit I do enjoy my drink :D

I don't really know - I think last semester I was putting maybe 15 units away per week on average (hey, got to take advantage of those £1 drinks at the student union :p). Since Easter I've had a total of three beers or something because of exams.

A lot. Easily 29+.

Few beers a night, usually 6%+. A couple of drams. Then there's wine with dinner some nights. And then if I'm out, I'll likely drink at least 20 units. As I've always said, my liver is fine. I love alcohol, what can I say?

I came to this thread and immediately scrolled to find your signature and check you were in the highest bracket. Congratulations, forum alcoholic. :D

When I'm at uni easily 29+, on placement at the moment so probably... after checking with a calculator, still 29+. Doesn't do me any harm yet, Scottish livers are made of tougher stuff.

At most, i go to my local for a meal once a week, sometimes twice, never drink more than 2-3 pints of Beer and rarely drink at home.
