Like me? Indeed I post a lot more than him and it may be drivel, but I don't bother making 3 new threads every day with 1 sentence and a link to a news story. In fact I rarely post a thread a week.

This, Matts threads could be easily replaced by placing a link to the BBC news website at the top of the forum.

Also how the hell is this thread still open?
 
Then again Skyfall he's only one of many OCUK members who post news stories into GD constantly.

I'm no fan of his, but there's definate pack mentality and double standards all over this thread. Is the OP any better for posting such a daft thread about Matttheman?

but surely most of his posts on news topics and politics etc, should be in "speaker's corner" where people are interested in these things, as opposed to GD

if you took time out to answer the link with my sentence i would interact more with my posts, however people seem to spam it a lot, which then puts me off replying, and i dont bother so i move onto the next topic.
I not my fault its your internet behaviour that progresses the situation towards abandonment of each tread, why because i cant not be asked to fall into your little game.

Inorder to carry out this referendums there has to be a vote by all members of ocuk otherwise it just becames another zimbabwe, anyway i cant be asked to answer more in thread, so i leave you all to enjoy your party, remember its ok to like men.

Rubbish. The problem is that you post a link without posting your opinion or views on it. If someone wants that then all they need to do is get an RSS feed or something. How about for a change you post a link and then post your thoughts on the subject and see what sort of response you get then?
 
I also don't get this mentality of "no one is forcing you to read it" so if the forum was filled with people like mattheman and there were a thousand people posting AND REPOSTING links to bbc news stories every day it wouldn't be a problem?

The problem is not with the link he's posting it's the lack of anything else to go with the post, most people who see a news story and think it's interesting have a little preamble and maybe a question or two and most people post a few of those, ever.

Whereas mattheman just blindly posts links to stories with all the foreplay of a yorkshire terrier. He doesn't do a quick search or even look at the first page of the forum to see if it has already been posted.

I'm not saying his behavior is horrible, I'm not saying he's a bad man, nor am I condoning anything more than changing his name on an internet forum to something inoffensive. It's just boring and mildly irritating. People should lighten up and stop being so dramatic.

Post more in the OP, make people think you're doing more than just copy pasting. If you really think the story is worth posting here then throw us a bone.
 
Skyfall - if people want to pick on Matt then do it for the content of posts he makes, not the lack of content as that's frankly not justified due to the quantity of other no-content or low content threads started, particularly in GD. A recent example, check out how the OP has literally put in just two words in his post with a link and quote:

I disagree with most of what Matt posts, but if we're going to call for a poll for name change or ban then why don't we actually target something that's justified - like some of the drivel he's posted in the past with daft content that people actually found offensive ;)
