I've been on and off about buying a new card, luckily a few things i'm selling at auction are doing quiet well so i'll probly buy gtx280. Not on launch day tho gonna wait to read a few head to head reviews of all the new cards first.

im hoping the 4850 comes out at the £100 mark, but if not, I'll be getting an 8800gt, hopefully they will go down in price too I currently have an x1600xt, thats lasted me almost 2 years

Mad. If the reports are true that a 4850 is going to £130 but in a lot of games beating a 9800GTX and even a GTX260 why on earth would you buy a 8800GT?

Unless £100 is you top limit in which case, fair enough.

Ive been with nvidia for a good few years now but im leaning towards the 4870.

If the price is sub £200, I'll think I'll be heading for the 4870. I can't afford the GTX200, even if it does add an extra 10% or whatever performance. Its all about bang per buck for me. Although saying that, I do want performance beating my 2900xt.

I've always thought i'd blindly stick with NV but thats foolish. I've got around £180ish to spend on a card and i'll get the best "pow for my pound". (sorry just made that up )

Wait and see of course there is no rush upgrading from a 8800GT yet.

But based on all the rumours around atm I'd go ATI.

I have no idea why you bought a 8800GTX only 3 months ago when everyone new it was end of the road for these cards.
