Still undecided.

I'm leaning more towards the ATi card, for, as I said, their drivers.

I doubt i'll find the money for the GTX280 though, I think it'll be whoever wins the bang-for-buck contest between the GTX260 and the 4870.

At the moment I'm seriously tempted by the 280, though I'll probably sit it out and see what the difference is between them and the 4870.

We dont know until the proper reviews come out, Im hoping it will be 4870xt as ATI need a win to keep the competition alive.

Also you should add 9800GX2 to that list as it will be a strong contender with both new camps offerings.

I set aside $1200.00 last week for 2 x gtx280's but i think im gona wait for a week and see what kinda numbers people put down before ordering .

I will never buy ATI/AMD anything ,, lol ,, but thats just me .

I was going to go for a single GTX 280 but the performance only seems to be about as good as what I already have. My 9800GX2 is a bit too hot and noisy so hopefully two small cards will be better; with HD4850 results emerging I might just get two of those and CrossFire 'em.

GT200 for me, wont go back to ATI, in all honesty they just cant compete performance wise and I'm sure its the same with these new cards that are imminent, sue me if I'm wrong, got no problems with NV drivers either.

I'll be going for a 280GTX so I can avoid all the crossfire and SLI issues in my favourite games. Might switch to a 4870 if it turns out to be superior but I doubt it will be.

Well I decided I have wasted far to much money on GFX cards so I have just brought a NEC Monitor and i'm Chuffed to bits with it :D

More than likely a ATi 4850 as they seem the cheapest and offer most performance if my given price range. And looking from the some of these reviews looks like a good buy, the prices of NV's offerings are just going to be sky high i think, and ultimatly not worth it.

how can anyone possibly tell you which they are going to buy when not much is known about any of the cards

What is known generally points to the 280 being the fastest card, and the 4850 the slowest, what's not known is where the 4870 fits in with the 260 and how they are price wise. Of course it could turn out that the 4870 is fastest. If that's the case then I'll likely go with the 4870 over the 280.
