WASD and normal mouse for me, though it got me thinking, when using a controller on a console I would use inverted look/view/aim but on PC need to have it normal otherwise its just not right!

Flight sim is inverted as it should be

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I'm not normal :( :(

Must say I'm pretty surprised - not so much about WASD, but all these people with their mice up-side-down! How is it even possible?? And the people who partially realise the error of their ways and switch between the two for FPS or flight - wow! I have to admit it hasn't passed me by all these years that the option I choose is called 'inverted' and is never default, but I just figured it's like a lot of things that are setup incorrectly 'out of the box' :). My experience of 'normal' mouse is exactly as jamesblade. In fact after jumping on L4D recently after a 'friend' had been playing, I just thought my mouse wasn't working properly and started getting frustrated with that and the damn game. Took me a while to twig it was just non-inverted. Horrible experience never to be repeated I hope.

There's one reason and one reason only I might actually give WASD a try - and that's having my currently unused thumb on the nice big spacebar. That I, concede, could be fairly useful. And aaaaaaaaah - so that's why weapon choice is always on the numbers - now I see :). But it's just so crowded there and that diagonal offset of the W - uuurghhh. Still i really might try WASD.

In fact I think an empathy day would be a valuable thing for us all. Experience what your fellow gamers are going through. We could have a whole CS server where everybody agrees to use the mouse opposite to what they're used to, and different keys. Would be like a sort of special needs CS server :)

WASD 'normal' mouse. But I redefine almost everything else, different keys for different games (e.g. COD and BF2 have difference mappings).

Used to use the arrows (doom days) but only as I had had a keyboard that was awesome then. Now it just feels very wrong.

I prefer the good old BBC micro combination of up/down on the right hand and left/right on the left hand.

Lol - almost included that as a poll option :). Had to switch to that every time a C64 joystick broke, which was about every week if I recall, or after about 5 minutes of Daley Thompson's Decathalon. :). Still use ZXMKL on emulators.

WASD + normal for me, But on a console I use inverted sticks for look/aim. Couldn't imagine using inverted mouse controls .... weirdos ! :p

Greywolf, doesn't that hurt after a few hours ?

Unbelievable - so there are more self-confessed freaks than people who do it like me - the right way. Sigh. Cue lamenting about the state of society, world not what it used to be etc etc...

S,D,F (E is usually duck/down/prone etc)and forwards on mouse2.
Been like that for 10yr+ now since quake1.
Irrc it was duke3d defualts and i just stuck with it :)

That's the sickest thing I've ever read. Please present yourself to your nearest mental health institution. A printout of your post will ensure admittance. If they were the default Duke3D controls, it must have been some sort of in joke. :p:p

I was always QA for up/down and OP for left/right in the ZX Spectrum days.

Also, golf ball trick on the rubber keys for Daley Thompson.
