I invert my mouse but keys I use: ..el freak :)

Frwd = Ctrl
Bkwrd = Alt
Strafe left = shift
Strafe Right = z
Lean left - Caps locks (always a pain as I end up typing in caps)
Lean Right - A
Sprint = S
Crouch = C
Prone = Spacebar
Melee Mouse 5.

Yup Im a freak

One of the other benefits of using ESDF is the locator bump on the 'F' key, can always find the keys without looking.

Im left handed, so I use normal mouse and the keys OKL;

Its basically the opposite of what WASD for right handers

O = Forward
L = Back
K = Left
; = Right

Then I can also comfortably hit the Spacebar with my thumb and my little finger covers the shift area.

WASD plus 'normal mouse' for most games.

All games except Counter-strike. This spawns from back when I started playing it all those years back and my keyboard had a kind of faulty D key, it worked, just not as good as I wanted it to, and switched to arrows and changed all other combinations to around the arrow keys, use, drop, jump, crouch, flash, change weapon - all those controls were within finger reach of the arrow keys.

I grown comfortable with that, and haven't changed it, despite having fully functioning keyboards, and trying it out in the regular set up, I just can't play it without the arrow keys and my regular set up anymore, yet I'm fine with all other games, in fact I prefer it with all other games.

Omg at all you freaks not using an "inverted"* mouse! Does that mean that said freaks invert their joysticks in flight sims too?

*Assuming (without bothering to read beyond the first post and poll) that "inverted" means that you push the mouse forward to tip your head forward and hence looking down (as it's referred to in most games as "inverted" for this way).

Wooot so it aint me who is a noob and D (TEQ) if your reading this you with your crappy inverted mouse can go ........ :P hahahahahaha.

Teq would all ways say oh only noobs have normal mouse and I said no inverted is not right.

EDIT

Damn there really is some freaks here.

i have a merc gaming keyboard which gives u a separate section on the left with big arrow keys etc, perfect for gaming imo, so i went for the 'freak' option.

In the early days was arrows all the way, then came across a game that forced me to use WASD and never looked back. I keep meaning to dust off my logitech g13 and get used to using that

I'm a freak - some other crazy combination,lol > l use the right hand side of the keybroad > +:forward, enter:backwads, -:crouch, *:reload. You get my drift find it far easier than WASD.

wasd + inverted mouse.

The movement of the mouse mirrors the movement of the head of your character.
Move it forwards, head looks down. Move it backwards, head looks up.
Just like in real life.

It's all a matter of preference, and inverted or not depends on what you're used to (neither being better than the other), but it just annoys me when people describe inverted as being "weird and not natural".
