Pool Nation

Been doing the single player, and the AI kicks my ass so hard.

Also one of the bonus game allows the AI to use plants, but calls a foul on the player if he makes a plant. As if the AI needed any more advantage :p

If anyone is interested in an 8 ball No Aim tournament, there is one currently being set up on the Pool Nation page discussion board, on Steam. It will begin when there are 32 players signed up, I think there are about 25 at the moment.

Yeah snooker will be good fun, positioning will matter a little more.

I've already sunk an unexpected amount of hours into this, but I can see that increasing even more :D

Got the game & I'm enjoying it so far.

Is there a possible link between installing this and my other games being locked to 60fps? seems a bit odd but this is the last thing I did before noticing that CS:GO/TF2 & F1 2013 are all locked to 60fps even though vsync is off.

I got it too! Played it quite a bite yesterday. Need to complete a few more tutorials - decent game though. Would love a "snooka" addition!

Even on the easiest setting, some of the shots the AI pulls off are ridiculous!...I just started a tournament on easy, the AI broke, then cleared up without me taking a shot.

The way the AI works is pretty much this: they have a certain number of shots where they are allowed to pot balls before they have to make a mistake.

I think it's something like for every ball they pot they gain a set % chance to miss their next shot. It doesn't seem to be based purely on how difficult the next shot is.

If you pot 5 in a row, the next AI shot they pot ridiculously hard pots. I've seen them make plants with doubles, etc.

Basically, if you are playing well, and pot a number of balls, it's pointless leaving the AI snookered. Because on their next shot they will be allowed to pull off some amazing trick shot for a guaranteed pot. Then, like clockwork, a couple shots later they'll miss a straight pot, because it's the player's 'turn'.

I'm torn on the aids. Playing with a little bit in the way of aids just means you can do some hiliarously stupid shots which is great fun at times. Doesn't make for much in the way of good MP when you can do that though, roll on the trick shot addition for that! Or Snooker where ball placement might be a bit more important.

Find no aids a little too tricky at the moment, it's kinda harder than real life as you can't judge things as well - could be interesting with Occulus Rift support to get the depth perception in there and be able to look around better!
