Poor intel

That's an understatement! Your pets/kids might be quite naughty when they're not listening to you - Intel's systematic and brazen misuse of their position is something far for sinister. All in the name of market share, eh?

It was meant to be an understatement. It's not at all that surprising really this sort of thing happens, possibly on a much wider scale than some would like to believe.

i watched some videos on Linus Tech Tips last night on the tube. Man that guy is a lucky bugger - he gets given so much free new tech it makes me dizzy! He thinks Ryzen have actually nailed intel

Hmm it' made things uncomfortable for Intel but Intel have options one of which is to move on price or like Nvidia they have mind share and can wait it out until they have something better to release but that mind share won't last forever. They could try and pay off OEM's again to stop them buying AMD CPU's like they did in the 00's but I'm not sure in Intel would want to risk it again.

I watched that video in full yesterday evening and although I knew Intel was doing to shady stuff I never realised just how bad it was and I have to admit it was an eye opener (Back in the mid 00's I actually emailed Dell UK and asked why they didn't stock AMD systems to which I never got a reply now I know why). I do recall though I've pretty much made up my mind now that I'm not buying another Intel CPU for the foreseeable future, there's no way I want my money to be spent paying off the likes of Dell to stiffly the competition and restrict choice.
