Poor read performance from my raid array

I've got two samsung spinpoint F3 1tb's in a mirrored array, and the read performance of them is shockingly low, the write performance is reasonable which I find bizarre.... Is this usual of a raid 1 array on an intel onboard raid controller?

My primary drive a single F3 500GB gets the following -

My games array which is two 320GB f4's striped gets this -

Could anyone tell me how far out my performance is on each of the arrays? I'm quite happy with the games drive, just the storage drives performance seems very very poor to me!

The read speed on a mirrored array should be about the same as a single disk.

Are you sure nothing else was accessing the array while you ran the benchmark?

Also try another benchmark such as HD Tach.

HdTach gives those figures which I guess are reasonable? Just don't understand why the performance is so low compared to the other drives using CDM!

The HD Tach benchmark looks fine.

Different benchmarks work in different ways.

Just look at all the SSD benchmarks.

There's a considerable difference depending on which one you use.

I understand what you're saying but the single drive and striped array scores well in CDM! Thats what I'm confused by :confused:

I've no explanation for the odd CDM benchmark but the HD Tach benchmark is exactly what it should be.
