Poor Ron Paul getting ignored by main stream media

I don't think this means what you think it means.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on the fact that he got beaten by Michele 'Crazy Witch' Bachmann recently? That can't be good for his chances can it?

Beat by 150 votes, doesn't concern me at all.

Most political analysts after the media blackout backlash are saying its means nothing, he essentially won with less publicity.

The thing is, this is what the American people want and need. A change to the status quo.

Dont mean to be offensive here, but you really do seem to live in planet cukoo or are at least very naive. No matter how different a persons policys (or in Ron Paul's case barking mad), a change from the status quo will never be acheived as the opposing party will always do as there name suggests...oppose! Even if it is the best option, which in Ron Paul's case it wouldnt be.

Sadly this works on the other foot as well with the most recent example being the republicans vetoing the National Debt Ceiling raise till the last moment, despite it being quite obviously the only option and therefore putting the economy at great risk. Now im not saying it's a brilliant thing to have done...yet, it was the only thing that could be done to at least stay above collapse. still the Republicans opposed it however.

Nevertheless none of Ron Pauls policy's would ever be passed through congress if he did come to power as the democrat's would oppose them to a fundamental level and rightly so. Where does he expect the money to come from if he stops income tax and dosnt raise any other taxes to pay for all the people he'll be laying off when he shrinks the armed forces and goverment hmmm? guess hell just use O'Donnel or Bachmann to magic some money up.

Sorry to sound condescending but be realistic.

PS on another note the witch comment about Bachmann made me chuckle.

You do realise that first video is from a comedy show, don't you? Whereas the others don't actually prove much at all. They certainly don't prove that Ron Paul is being ignored by mainstream media.

I really hate replying to your posts because you pick little things and make them the focal point derailing the entire thread.

If anything this is a PERFECT example of what the thread is about.

Well, ok but it should. She's clearly deranged and is openly mocked in the media but still beat your guy.

Most political analysts

Really? Source would ge great.

after the media blackout backlash

There was no blackout and certainly no backlash.

are saying its means nothing, he essentially won with less publicity.

But he didn't. He lost regardless of publicity. I mean, you know that this happened, right? He came second, he lost.

The only thing I've heard about Ron Paul before is he is an American politician who gained somewhat of a cult following from groups on the internet.

This thread, with someone from York oddly obsessed with an American presidential candidate candidate, backs up my opinion.

Reminds me of conspiracy theory arguments.

War excused the growth of the state: taxes were created to pay for arms, welfare to buy the consent of the public, prison for the dissenters. What began as a temporary measure to expand the American empire evolved into a monolithic central state. Patterns of traditional living – small, simple, charitable – were absorbed or destroyed by the new “progressive” bureaucracy. Ergo the state, fuelled by war, became the motor of social decay.

Loved that part.

No different to Obama, he had a massive internet following, for a reason.

Did you know Ron Paul's campaign (in 2008) set two fund raising records: the largest single day donation total among Republican candidates and twice receiving the most money received via the Internet in a single day by any presidential candidate in American history.

He also receives more candidate funding from the armed forces then any other candidate.

He would bring all American troops home

He has an 83% voting record in favor of free trade in the House of Representatives

He believes that the foreign policy of America is the reason behind there targeted terrorism. No, I think some people just dont like America

He believes the size of federal government must be decreased substantially. This will lose you loads of jobs

He would completely eliminate the income tax LOL! But America is skint

He has signed a pledge not to raise taxes or create new taxes, given by Americans for Tax Freedom But America is skint.

He would get rid of the IRS But America is skint

I could go on more, but I'm off to bed ;)

OP is definitely trolling.

You realise this reinforces my opinion, don't you?

As for why he's ignored, see AndyT's post above. At least most politicians have believable empty promises.
