Poor Ron Paul getting ignored by main stream media

it always bugged me, why that vote failed, isn't av system better and is used to elect candidates within parties both labour and conservatives(who were so against it)

The AV system was really a system to allow the Lib Dems the chance to be in power.

If say you hated the Conservatives and loved Labour, your voting card would looking something like this:

1: Labour Candidate
2: Lib Dem Candidate
3: Conservative Candidate

And if you hated Labour and love the Conservatives it would look like this:

1: Conservative Candidate
2: Lib Dem Candidate
3: Labour Candidate

Meaning in the end if votes where not high enough for either main parties, the Lib Dems would then be put into power because there everyone's "second choice"

Unfortunately, bad previous governments rather prevent radical change happening.

You ditch the IRS, you still need another system to replace it, you vastly simplify it, thats great, it IS a good idea. However you've had 50 years of the system getting more complex, more jobs, more paperwork. Lets say the current IRS has 500k people working for it, it only really needs 100k working for it in a simplified state with less loopholes and other things, just straight basic tax rules anyone can follow.

Thats great, so where do you get 400k other jobs to give to the other people out of work. No where, thats the problem, they end up on benefits, which you then can't afford.

UK/USA started creating these ridiculous and unneeded jobs decades ago and have accelerated that significantly in the past 10 years. If you got rid of everyone you don't need in government and other public services, you'd be creating MILLIONS of unemployed, which will damage the economy, which will lead to further job losses.

We ruin the system to win political points, and then at some stage theres really just no way back.

His idea's are nice, but just not workable. Bring back the soldiers, stop their foreign policy, thats another million people in various industrys that aren't required without being at war, or spying on everyone, unemployed, etc, etc. It just goes on and on, everywhere.

Look at Obama, pie in the sky rubbish, not as sensible as Ron Paul at all, because Democrats are "no war, less waste, HUGE government", did he pull all troops out of war the day he was in office(as he promised throughout the nominations campaigning), no, its completely unworkable and would have lead to a ridiculous amount of jobs lost in the states overnight.

I wish I could be American for a day just to vote for Ron Paul! The guy talks sense and doesn't seem like the other mindless puppets you get on American TV. It's a shame there is such a huge smear campaign against him, so many sheeple don't see past it yet I'm glad many more do :)

Isn't Ron Paul some kind of drag queen?

The more interesting question is why the OP thinks anyone on here will actually care about US politics.

Probably because not everyone confines their small minds to taking an interest only in what's happening in a single small country.

Whilst he may be a Libertarian in some ways, he is also a Christian fundamentalist and his gold standard theory is absolute craziness. That is not to say, Libertarianess alone is grounds to ignore him, for libertarians are retarded.

He would completely eliminate the income tax

He has signed a pledge not to raise taxes or create new taxes, given by Americans for Tax Freedom.

He would get rid of the IRS

You forgot: "He is 75 years old and certifiably insane."

These proposals are hopelessly impractical.

Obama did not promise to pull all troops out of war the day he was in office.

"Barack Obama will work with military commanders on the ground in Iraq and in consultation with the Iraqi government to end the war safely and responsibly within 16 months."

If there must be a President called Ron with another first name for a surname, then Ron Jeremy would be a better President of the US rather than this nut job.

The big problem with Ron Paul is that he advocates a unilateral return to the gold standard, a position that is both economic suicide and a guarantee that the spread between rich and poor will be wider than ever...

He would bring all American troops home

He has an 83% voting record in favor of free trade in the House of Representatives

He believes that the foreign policy of America is the reason behind there targeted terrorism.

He believes the size of federal government must be decreased substantially.

He would completely eliminate the income tax

He has signed a pledge not to raise taxes or create new taxes, given by Americans for Tax Freedom.

He would get rid of the IRS

I could go on more, but I'm off to bed ;)

All what voters want to hear, but has he said how he'll pay for these policies? Let alone get them through Congress?
