Yeah, I agree due to the way the bonnet is bent out.

I meant to say that it looks like it started on the driveway though, instead of when the driver was out and about in it.

Is the battery over that side of the bay in the Scoobs? Could have shorted or something.

Anyway, I'm not going to speculate any further. ;)
 
The state of that bonnet leads me to suspect that something exploded under there. Whether that then started the fire or whether the fire caused the explosion would be guesswork though...

The only thing I can see exploding is the battery...?
 
Would need a pretty big bang to do that to the bonnet :/

Was the windscreen smashed to bits too? hard to tell from here whether its just smoky or smashed
 
I think that the bonnet might have been bent out like that by the fire brigade. that is pretty dramatic but it seems to have been contained in the engine bay. Anyones guess what caused that but I'll bet the owner is glad it didn't happen when they were driving.

Hope he has no claims discount protection because I dont think that will be cheap to repair it it can be done at all.
 
Dubious of an explosion...

Looking at the wheels it's an import? Import scoobies had Aluminium bonnets didn't they? Wouldn't that have just melted and distorted?
