Poor Vertex 3 Performance

I'm running a 90Gb OCZ Vertex 3 as a Windows drive, a 256Gb Samsung 830 as a Games driver and then a 1.5Tb 2xWD Black 750Gb RAID0 array for other stuff.

I'm a bit confused by these performance figures:

OCZ Vertex 3:

Samsung 830:

RAID Array:

Specifically, why is the write speed of the OCZ so comparatively poor compared to the Samsung - infact in some tests its slower than my mechanical RAID array?

What could be wrong?

for sandforce drives your best testing with atto software,the samsung uses different in house controller and it performs better at uncompressed data,compressed data the ocz performs better

Just tried Atto, much better. Reads/writes at over 500mb/s in most of the test. The Samsung by contrast has similar read speeds but writes at 400ish. Is that normal?

yeah thats normal,its swings and roundabouts,sandforce outperforms other controlleers when it comes to compressionable data,things like winrar ect
