Poor WOW performance

i am currently running amd Phenom 9600 on a Gigabyte Ga m750sli ds4 with 4 gig ram and a 9600gt on XP 32bit.
i am thinking of upgrading as i build the maching for gaming WOW and am getting very low performance.
I have tried 2 nvidia 9600gt but am running 1 at the moment due to the step down to X8 on sli.
Tried all sorts and no joy any ideas - even reinstalling XP.
Frame rate drops below 10 when everybody else are getting 40+

What resolution are you playing at mate? Also is just in raids, Northrend or all the time?

There was a patching problem causing low fps it should be sorted out soon.

running at 1600x1200 which is native to the monitor @60hz.
performance is pretty bad all the time and especially in raids / dalaran.
people with lower spec machines are getting a better frame rate which is annoying.

Blizzard games have for years had problems with lag on different servers.Ive had latency as high as 3000 even in quiet starter areas

dont blame it on your machine,its a good chance its from the games side

Have you lowered the multisampling level in game?
Also reduce the shadow level because that is a fps killer

It's a fps issue, not lag, that he's got.

The change from x16 to x8 isn't going to make any real difference. But SLI isn't going to help you as WoW is CPU limited.

Anybody know if there is a problem with the MB and AMD Phenom - have thought about changing the board but a bit concerned it won't make any difference.
