And a tot of whisky... and it's eaten standing up... and whatever other rubbish they told you at the Scottish tourism office.Traditionally you make it with milk, good and hot.... then you have a cup of cold milk that you dip the spoon of porridge into to cool it down, and for the extra taste... try it.
Oats, water, salt, that's it.
Everything else is just an embelishment and nothing to do with tradition... except the tradition is actually that ye'll eat it however ye damn well please and anyone who doesn't like it can get stuffed.
