I'm not taking about track days though mate, i can understand the wear rate issues due to that.

I'm talking about normal road use, as in country roads and motorways, you can't drive the car that hard because within 6 months the police would have removed your rights to drive any car on the road.

Given an only road usage profile to only get 15k out of a set of discs seems silly, even given the cars weight and power.
 
Yes but maybe not the way your thinking, they don't crack as in literally fall to bits, they just crack marginally, could potentially be a disaster if you did not spot it.

That's the problem with a hugely powerful yet heavy car, its very heavy on its brakes. Some owners don't have issues and they last a good 15,000 miles whereas others destroy a set of rotors as often as they change tyres.

That's what I was thinking, not so much a complete disintegration but braking hard from high speed on a compromised rotor has the potential for danger!

No one buys a GTR for normal road use mate. ;)

They get driven very hard, when I was passenger in one the speeds we hit on country roads were well over a ton and the speeds on roundabouts with mind warping, trust me they get driven hard, I guess owners are just good at not getting caught. But yes even with road use if you drive it hard you won't see much more than 10k from brakes.

If you were a normal user on motorways with the odd quick drive then yeah the brakes will last longer, but as I keep saying the issue is the cars weight.
